Do Something For Them!
Amna Javed (24.02.2021)
The farmers who sow the field
Striving hard for the golden harvest
Praying for a surplus yield
Do something for them.
The workers who cry for minimum income
Surviving the harshest working conditions
Feeding their families seldom
Do something for them.
The activists representing people’s fear
Daring to speak the truth loud and clear
Going behind bars for the beliefs they hold dear
Do something for them.
The people you call as citizens
Yearning for peace and progress
And those who are robbed off their basic rights and dignity
Do something for them.
The thinkers you label as insane
Rejecting the reality they rightly explain
Refusing to listen to their ideas with your intellectualism mundane
Do something for them.
The creatives who try to bring change
Receive less recognition, and nothing they gain
Their abstract colourful art on canvasses plain
Do something for them.
The weak, the marginalised who are discriminated against
Undeserved ruthless humiliation they have faced
Humanity has been seized and will cease if you don’t
Do something for them!
