Mangaluru, December 3, 2025: The Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, is set to host a crucial awareness session aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners. The event, focusing on key central government support schemes, will be held on Friday, 12th December 2025, at the KCCI Meeting Hall.

Titled “Awareness Session on Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme,” the program will also cover other vital initiatives including the Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the National Livestock Mission (NLM).

Smt. Dhanalakshmi D.N., Assistant Director of Agriculture (HQ), will inaugurate the session as the Chief Guest and deliver introductory remarks. The main technical session will be conducted by Dr. A.A. Fazal, a Food Scientist, Retired Professor, and the District Resource Person for Dakshina Kannada.

The session is designed to be a comprehensive guide for micro-entrepreneurs, detailing financial assistance and formalization opportunities. Key highlights include:

PMFME Scheme: Offering up to 50% financial support for enterprises in bakery products, chocolates, oil mills, beverages, sweets, and other food processing units.

PMEGP: Providing up to 35% financial support for a broader range of businesses in the service, manufacturing, and trading sectors.

National Livestock Mission: Facilitating up to 50% subsidy, with a cap of Rs. 50 lakh per unit, for ventures like stall-fed goat farming, special poultry farming, and poultry hatcheries.

The chamber leadership, including President P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Vice-President Divakar Pai Kochikar, Hon. Treasurer Abdur Rahman Musba, and Hon. Secretaries Ashwin Pai Maroor and Jeethan Allen Sequeira, extended a cordial invitation to all entrepreneurs and budding entrepreneurs in the region.
