This story comes to you from the heart of Bolivar, Missouri. More specifically from the community converging at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. Here is a remarkable young woman named Minda Cox who cherihes her daily life, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. Minda’s journey, detailed in her book “Ordinary,” is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. The book is very descriptive about the transformative power of love.

She was born in an Indian village in Udupi District of Karnataka State, 33 years ago with a magical and dramatic script about her mission in life. God had converted her arms and legs into invisible wings. She had immense spiritual powers to fly wherever she wished, which she had realised much later.

Minda’s life took a predestined turn when she was adopted being a 22 months child by a compassionate Angel from America, Reverend Cathy Cox. Minda grew up in a household that radiated love and acceptance, alongside four adopted sisters, forming a unique family that embraced diversity and universality.

Minda’s narrative transcends the confines of her physical limitations. Her travels to India, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Honduras, and Haiti reveal a soul determined to make a difference. Whether comforting orphans, working with physically disabled individuals, or advocating for accessibility in her hometown, Minda exemplifies the principle that love knows no boundaries.

Her dedication extends beyond borders, embodying the essence of “Love is Universal.” Minda’s story is not just about overcoming personal challenges; it’s a call to action for everyone facing adversity. Through her experiences, she implores others to embrace their uniqueness, acknowledging that every life is a gift from God, and each person can be the hands and feet of God.

In her autobiography, Minda reflects on her decision to discard prosthetic limbs and embrace her genuine self. Her artistic endeavors, showcased at the Art Sync Gallery in Bolivar, echo her sentiments. Her water colors and pen-and-ink drawings speak volumes about the beauty found in embracing one’s authentic identity.

Minda’s connection with the community goes beyond her artistic pursuits. Her advocacy for accessible sidewalks in Bolivar exemplifies her determination to create a more inclusive environment. Her gratitude extends to everyone who contributes to making her daily life more manageable, from city officials to Walgreens clerks who installed a shopping basket on her wheelchair.

As Minda navigates her electric wheelchair through the streets of Bolivar, she embodies a spirit that refuses to be defined by physical limitations. Her journey from India to the heart of Missouri is not just a personal triumph; it’s an invitation for others to recognize the strength within themselves.

Minda Cox, a graduate of Southwest Baptist University, stands as an inspiration for all. Her message to others with disabilities is clear: “Do not let your disability slow you down or stop you from doing something wonderful with your life.” In her narrative, we find the universal truth that love, in all its forms, has the power to transform lives and defy limitations.

As we witness the extraordinary, ordinary days in the life of Minda Catherine Cox, let us reflect on the profound simplicity of her message: Love is Universal, and through love, we can overcome any obstacle, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. We salute her and the Angel who took her first on her shoulders with love and compassion. Are we really Global Citizens, or else, let us model them.
