The 9th Annual Dr N Sridhar Shetty Endowment Lecture was organized by Nitte deemed to be University and A.B.Shetty Old students Association (ABSOSA) on 9th July Tuesday 2019 at 9.30 AM in the gracious presence of Honourable Chancellor Sri N Vinaya Hegde of Nitte deemed to be university. Prof.Dr.U.S.Krishna Nayak Principal & Dean in his welcome address highlighted the contribution of Prof Dr N Sridhar Shetty in building the AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences into a Internationally reputed dental Institute.
Prof Dr Subhas Babu Co-Ordinator of Dr N Sridhar Shetty Endowment committee introduced the Chief Guest and gave insight into the achievements of Prof DR R Venkata Rao Vice Chancellor of National Law School Bengaluru.
BEFORE SEEKING PEACE WE NEED TO CULTIVATE JUSTICE- SAID Prof Dr R Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor of National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. He was delivering the 9th annual dr n Sridhar Shetty Endowment lecture at A.B.SHETTY MEMORIAL INSTITUTE OF DENTAL SCIENCES, NITTE DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY.
HE STATED THAT EDUCATION IS FORMATION MORE THAN INFORMATION. PERFECT HUMAN IS GOD AND IMPERFECT GOD IS HUMAN. PROF RAO STATED THAT YOUNG TEACHERS HAVE A GREAT ROLE TO PLAY IN NATION BUILDING AND TO TRANSFORM INDIA IN THE COMING YEARS. HE SAID THAT ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE WITHOUT HUMAN EXCELLENCE IS DISASTROUS. INTEGRITY IS VERY IMPORTANT IN LIFE. IT IS NOTHING BUT DOING THE RIGHT THING WHEN NO ONE IS WATCHING YOU.
IN HIS ENDOWMENT ADDRESS, PROF VENKATA RAO EMPHASISED THAT A FUNCTIONING BRAIN NEED SUPPORT OF FUNCTIONING HEART ALSO AND SAID THAT ETHICS IS IMPORTANT IN EVERY WALK OF LIFE.
Sri N Vinaya Hegde Chancellor of Nitte deemed to be University in his Presidential address acknowledged the role of Prof Dr N Sridhar Shetty in building up dental institute of International repute and the role of alumni as brand ambassadors of the college. Prof Dr M Shantharam Shetty Pro-Chancellor of Nitte deemed to be University, Prof Dr B Satheesh Kumar Bhandary Vice Chancellor of Nitte deemed to be university, Prof Dr M S Moodithaya Pro-Vice chancellor were present on this occasion.
Prof Dr Amarshree A Shetty Chairperson of Endowment Committee proposed the vote of thanks and expressed the importance of the Endowment lecture and showered accolades on Dr N Sridhar Shetty
and proposed the Vote of thanks in eloquent style.
Dr Delisha Post graduate Dept of Pedodontics and Pediatric dentistry was the MC and compered the program
The Past Chairpersons of Old Students Association Dr shubhan alva , Dr Nithesh Shetty, Dr Shishir Shetty were present.Nearly 350 participants including Alumni and Heads of various medical and dental departments, Staff, Post graduates and Interns attended this highly informative lecture.
