Currently serving as the Chief Librarian at St. Agnes College (Autonomous) in Mangalore, Karnataka, Dr. Vishala has played a key role in modernizing the institution’s library services. She holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from Mangalore University and an M.Phil from Alagappa University. Over the years, she has contributed more than 25 research articles to national and international journals, edited volumes, and conference proceedings. Her research in digital library services and modern library management has set new benchmarks in the field.

She was the first woman to serve as General Secretary of the Association of Mangalore University College Teachers (AMUCT) from 2018 to 2022. She also held key positions such as Joint Secretary of the Federation of University and College Teachers Association (FUCTAK), Bangalore, and Secretary of the Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu Library Association.
Her influence extends beyond academia; she is a mentor to young professionals, helping them to pursue their careers in library science. She has also served as the Secretary of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at her college, ensuring that academic excellence remains a priority.
