At 42, Manu Oommen has already journeyed through a life enriched by discipline, leadership, sport, engineering and creativity. The son of Dr. Oommen Mammen, Manu is an engineer by profession and is based in the UAE. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Protect Plast LLC. A passionate cricketer in his younger years, he played in the competitive Dubai league before eventually retiring from the sport. Yet, beyond his professional accomplishments and sporting journey, Manu has discovered another remarkable form of expression through painting.

His paintings reveal a distinctive artistic personality. They carry a rare combination of precision and emotion, discipline and freedom. His brush seems to move with the precision of a fighter pilot, where every movement is purposeful, measured, and controlled. Yet, within that precision, there is remarkable warmth. His strokes flow naturally, allowing emotions to emerge gently on the canvas.
What makes Manu’s paintings particularly appealing is his ability to translate emotions into soothing and positive expressions. His work does not merely seek to impress the eye. It speaks quietly to the heart. Each painting appears to carry an emotion, a thought or a moment of reflection. The viewer is invited to pause, observe and connect with the feeling behind the colours and forms.

There is a sense of serenity in his work. In an increasingly restless world, Manu’s paintings offer moments of calm. His colours and strokes seem to create a peaceful space where the viewer can step away from everyday concerns and experience something more personal. The paintings invite contemplation without demanding it.
Perhaps this quality comes naturally from a life shaped by different disciplines. Engineering has given Manu an appreciation for accuracy and structure. Corporate leadership has taught him responsibility, patience and decision making. Cricket has demanded concentration, timing, resilience and an understanding of movement. Painting gives him another language through which all these experiences can find expression.

There is also courage in his approach to the canvas. A painting requires more than technical ability. It requires the confidence to place one’s emotions in full view. Manu’s work demonstrates that confidence. His strokes are assured, yet they retain an appealing softness. His paintings possess structure without losing spontaneity and emotion without becoming overwhelming.
Every canvas tells its own story. Some may speak through colour, others through movement, while others communicate through the quiet atmosphere they create. What remains constant is the emotional sincerity that seems to lie beneath the surface. His paintings encourage the viewer to look beyond what is immediately visible and discover the feeling that inspired the work.

Manu Oommen’s artistic journey is therefore a fascinating extension of his personality. The engineer, the corporate leader and the former cricketer coexist with the artist within him. Each facet of his life seems to contribute something to his creative expression. The precision of engineering, the discipline of cricket and the responsibilities of leadership find a different kind of freedom on his canvas.
His paintings are not simply objects to decorate a room. They are expressions to experience, appreciate and cherish. They deserve a place where they can be admired not only for their beauty but also for the emotions they evoke.

Manu’s art reminds us that creativity can emerge at any stage of life and from the most unexpected places. His journey demonstrates that a person can move confidently between the worlds of engineering, business, sport and art while remaining authentic to himself.
Ultimately, the greatest charm of Manu Oommen’s paintings lies in their ability to make emotions visible. His precise strokes create harmony, his colours create comfort and his compositions create moments of reflection. Each painting carries a quiet invitation to stop, feel and appreciate.
Manu Oommen does not merely paint pictures. He paints emotions, transforms feelings into colour and turns moments of reflection into something beautiful enough to be admired and cherished.
