The Beginning of Atmamitra
In 2012, a center called Atmamitra started in Kalady. It was set up on the Sameeksha campus. The word Atmamitra means “friend of the soul.” This center gives guidance and counseling to youth. Fr. Toby took charge of it with a strong mission. He wanted to help young people who feel alone, sad, or hopeless. He never asked about religion, caste, or background. He welcomed all.
Always Available to Help
Fr. Toby and his team set up a 24-hour helpline. Anyone could call. Even a missed call was enough. They would call back immediately. Many young people found hope through this service. He did not wait for people to come to him. He reached out to them. He believed that being present is powerful. Just listening can bring change.
Programs and Support
Under his care, Atmamitra grew fast. It offered counseling, workshops, and seminars. It went to schools and colleges. It worked with families. It gave training to students. It also reached people through phone counseling. Fr. Toby trained his team with both heart and skill. The aim was to make young people strong from inside.
