ROTARY CLUB OF ORGAN DONATION INTERNATIONAL DECLARED A 100% COMPLIANCE CLUB
Mumbai, 7th June 2026 — Rotary International District 3141 District Governor Rotarian Dr Manish Motwani declared the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International (RCODI) a 100% Compliance Club in accordance with the Rotary International Manual. The declaration was made during the club’s online Official Club Visit (OCV) held on 7th June 2026.

A Club Built on Purpose and Growth
The OCV commenced with a welcome address by Founder, Charter President and Membership Director Rotarian Lal Goel, who highlighted the club’s remarkable membership growth of 130% during Rotary Year 2025–26, expanding from 38 members to 93 members as of the date of the visit.

President Rotarrian PHF Ritika Gupta, in her presidential address, reported that the club had successfully conducted 108 awareness projects and 36 online knowledge-transfer sessions featuring distinguished guest speakers. She noted that the ripple effect of the club’s work had extended well beyond geographical boundaries, touching the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals across India and around the world.
Rotarian Ritika Gupta expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Charter President Rotarian Lal Goel, Secretary Rotarian Ruby Agarwal, President-Elect Rotarian Hemalatha Bhandari, Treasurer Rotarian Kumar A. Shah, and Rotarians Sunil Gupta, Dipan Shah, Dr Rohan Monis, Ramnath Pradeep, Prof. Sudhir Sharan, Uma Jhawar, and many other dedicated members whose collective efforts strengthened every initiative of the club.
Felicitations and Induction of New Members
Secretary Rotarian Ruby Agarwal invited the District Governor, the Club Leadership Team, and dignitaries to felicitate Rotarians who had contributed significantly to the club’s membership growth. Rotarians Sunil Gupta, Hemalatha Bhandari, Prof. Sudhir Sharan, Dr Kamal Jain, and JH Martin were honoured for their outstanding contribution. Rotarian Lal Goel was also recognised and congratulated on being invited to the Rotary International Convention in Taipei, where RI President Francesco Arezzo is going to honour him for the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International’s exceptional membership growth.
Rotarian Ruby Agarwal introduced all 49 newly enrolled members, who were formally inducted into the Rotary International family by District Governor Rotarian Dr Manish Motwani.
Assistant Governor Rotarian Shashank Thakrae offered words of wisdom and commended the club for its exceptional 130% membership growth during the year.
District Governor’s Address: Landmark Achievements
District Governor Rotarian Dr Manish Motwani congratulated President Rotarian PHF Ritika Gupta and Secretary Rotarian Ruby Agarwal for achieving 100% compliance across all parameters. He underscored the importance of the Official Club Visit as a vital tool for evaluating a Rotary club’s health, documenting projects comprehensively, and ensuring the proper institutional record of the club’s service activities.
The District Governor highlighted several landmark achievements of the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International during the year:
- Successfully advocated for a historic increase in financial assistance—from ₹5 lakhs to ₹22 lakhs—for BPL cardholders requiring organ transplants in Maharashtra.
- Organising an Organ Donation Awareness Programme at the prestigious Raj Bhavan, Kolkata, marking the first such programme held at any Raj Bhavan in India.
- Created history by conducting an Organ Donation Awareness Programme at Aligarh Muslim University for the first time in the institution’s 150-year history.
- Conducted Organ Donation Awareness Programmes at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), India’s premier space research organisation.
- Successfully conducted Organ Donation Awareness Programmes for officers & personnel of the Indian Navy, Indian Army, and CISF across India.
DG Dr Motwani also praised the exemplary service rendered during the year by Rotarians Lal Goel, Sunil Gupta, Ruby Agarwal, Hemalatha Bhandari, Uma Jhawar, and Dr Rohan Monis.
Closing Remarks
Following district announcements by the Assistant Governor Rotarian Shashank Thakrae, President-Elect Rotarian Hemalatha Bhandari delivered the vote of thanks.
The OCV meeting was successfully conducted by Rotarian Ruby Agarwal, Secretary of the Club.
Past District Governor Dr Rajendra Agarwal, who attended the meeting as a Mentor and Honorary Member of the Club, described the OCV as exceptionally well-conducted and highly impressive. He congratulated Rotarian Lal Goel for transforming his noble vision into reality in such a short period of time.
The meeting was attended by Chief Coordinator Rotarian Bhagwan Patil, District Secretary, a large number of Rotarians, guests, and invitees from across India and abroad, and was broadcast live on YouTube.
