ROTARIAN LAL GOEL BRINGS ORGAN DONATION AWARENESS TO NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE NEW DELHI
New Delhi, 23 June 2026 — Renowned organ donation crusader Rotarian Lal Goel, Founder & Charter President of the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International (RCODI) and Chairman of the Organ Donation India Foundation & GYAN, delivered an inspiring awareness session on organ donation at the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), New Delhi, encouraging the nation’s frontline disaster responders to become ambassadors for the life-saving cause.
Rotarian Lal Goel was warmly received by Mr Tarun Ravi, 2IC & Officiating Commandant, 16 Battalion NDRF, and Dr Abhishek Pandey, 2IC & Chief Medical Officer, 16 Battalion NDRF.
Addressing officers and personnel of the Force, Rotarian Lal Goel drew a powerful connection between the NDRF’s mission of saving lives during disasters and the humanitarian impact of organ donation.
“Every day, NDRF personnel risk their lives to save others in times of crisis. Organ donation offers an opportunity to continue that noble mission even beyond one’s lifetime. A single organ donor can save multiple lives and give hope to families waiting for a second chance,” he said.
Rotarian Lal Goel urged participants to discuss organ donation with their families and register their pledge through the National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), thereby transforming their commitment into a lasting legacy of life.
During the session, Rotarian Lal Goel also introduced the Organ Donation Warriors Programme, a nationwide citizen-led initiative being launched on 2 July 2026, aimed at creating a network of trained volunteers and awareness champions across India to promote organ donation and encourage donor pledges.
Rotarian Rajni Goel was also present on the occasion. The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and personnel of the 16 Battalion NDRF and marked a significant step towards strengthening organ donation awareness within India’s uniformed services.
The programme concluded with a shared commitment to spreading awareness and inspiring more citizens to pledge their organs, reinforcing the message that one donor can save multiple lives.
