VISAKHAPATNAM, August 20, 2026: In an initiative aimed at deepening students’ understanding of ethical leadership, responsible business practices and corporate accountability, IIAM Vizag Business School is set to host a special session titled “Ethics and Corporate Governance – The Ongoing Tata Story.” The session is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. onwards at the IIAM Seminar Hall. The programme is being presented as an opportunity for students and members of the academic community to explore how strong ethical values and sound corporate governance can shape organisations and influence business leadership.
The session will be led by Prof. Mohanlal Agarwal, Deputy Academic Dean at the University of West London and President of IGMA, Dubai. With the Tata Group serving as the central case study, the discussion is expected to examine the relationship between business ethics, leadership, corporate responsibility and long-term institutional credibility.
The choice of the Tata story is particularly significant. The Tata legacy is widely associated with the idea that business success should go hand in hand with values, responsibility and trust. The session is therefore expected to encourage participants to look beyond conventional measures of corporate performance and consider the ethical principles that underpin sustainable organisations.

A key message highlighted in the event announcement comes from Ratan Tata: “Good values are not just good ethics, they are good business.” The statement captures the central theme of the programme, ethical conduct is not merely a moral obligation but can also become a powerful foundation for lasting business success. The event will be held in the Ratan Tata Hall of Wisdom, adding further relevance to a programme centred on the Tata legacy. For students pursuing business education, the session promises to connect classroom concepts such as corporate governance, leadership and organisational ethics with a real-world corporate story that has attracted global attention.
As businesses face increasing scrutiny from investors, employees, consumers and society at large, ethical governance has emerged as one of the defining challenges of modern management. Against this backdrop, programmes that encourage future managers to think critically about integrity and accountability can play an important role in shaping responsible business leaders.

The upcoming session at IIAM Vizag Business School is consequently is an invitation to reflect on a fundamental question facing contemporary business: Can an organisation achieve enduring success without compromising its values? Through the lens of the ongoing Tata story, the programme is expected to offer students valuable insights into why ethics, trust and responsible governance remain essential ingredients of leadership in the modern corporate world.
