The Department of Mental Health Nursing and Student Innovation Club, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (NUINS), in collaboration with the Staff Development Centre, Nitte Deemed to be University, organized a seminar on “Gen Z 2.0: Teach Smart, Connect Deep, Balance Better” on 3rd October 2026 for the faculty members of Nitte Deemed to be University.

The session was led by Dr. Vithoba Narayan Mhalakar, Associate Professor, Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour, Bambolim, Goa, and Certified Emotional Intelligence Coach.
The seminar focused on understanding the evolving characteristics of Gen Z, effective communication, emotional intelligence, building meaningful connections, promoting mental well-being, and maintaining balance in the digital era.

The programme was presided over by Dr. Prof. Sabitha Nayak, Principal, NUINS. Mrs. Prathima Sherigarthy, Coordinator, Student Innovation Club, coordinated the programme. Mr. Sukesh, Head, Department of Mental Health Nursing, and Mrs. Sadhana Deshmukh, Director, Staff Development Centre, Nitte DU, were present on the occasion.

The seminar provided faculty members with practical insights and contemporary perspectives to enhance teaching approaches, strengthen intergenerational communication, foster meaningful connections, and promote well-being in the academic environment.
