Some individuals inspire society through their achievements, while others go a step further by dedicating their lives to inspiring people around them. Shri K. Jayaprakash Rao of Mysuru belongs to this special category. His life is a wonderful blend of public service, literary excellence, knowledge-sharing and an enduring passion for motivating the younger generation.

He is widely recognised for translating Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s celebrated autobiography, Wings of Fire, into Kannada under the title Agniya Rekkegalu (ಅಗ್ನಿಯ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳು). This remarkable contribution has brought the inspiring journey and vision of India’s beloved Missile Man closer to thousands of Kannada-speaking readers, particularly students and young people.

His association with Dr. Kalam, during his distinguished service as Liaison Officer and Chief Public Relations Officer with DRDO and ADA, gave him a unique opportunity to understand the great scientist’s personality, philosophy and vision. This experience added authenticity and depth to his translation. The popularity of Agniya Rekkegalu, reflected in its numerous reprints and acceptance in educational institutions, speaks volumes about its impact.

However, Jayaprakash Rao’s contributions extend far beyond this celebrated translation. He is an accomplished author, motivational speaker, personality development counsellor and honorary educator. Through his writings, speeches and interactions, he has consistently encouraged young people to develop confidence, discipline, positive thinking and a strong sense of purpose.

What is particularly remarkable about him is that, even after years of distinguished service and literary achievement, he remains exceptionally active and enthusiastic. He is always looking for opportunities to share his knowledge, interact with young minds and inspire the next generation. For him, inspiring people is not simply an activity; it is a continuing mission. His willingness to engage with students, educational institutions and social organisations reflects his belief that every young person has the potential to achieve something meaningful in life.

It is this very spirit that makes his association with Global TV especially valuable. As one of the Mentors of Global TV, he brings a wealth of experience, wisdom and encouragement to our organisation. His guidance and association strengthen our commitment to using communication and media as powerful instruments for education, awareness and social transformation.

At Global TV, we consider it a privilege to have a person of his stature as part of our mentoring family. His experience, enthusiasm and passion for nurturing young talent are invaluable assets. More importantly, his example reminds us that true leadership lies not merely in personal accomplishments, but in helping others discover and realise their potential.

His lifelong contributions to literature and society have also received well-deserved recognition, including the prestigious Viswa Sahitya Puraskara (2026), instituted by Udupi Samskruthi Viswa Pratishtana. As Chairman of Global TV, I feel proud and privileged to acknowledge Shri K. Jayaprakash Rao’s association with our organisation. His continued enthusiasm, generosity in sharing knowledge and commitment to inspiring young people make him a role model for all of us.

A book can inspire a reader, a speech can motivate an audience, but a person who continuously inspires generations creates a lasting legacy. Shri K. Jayaprakash Rao is one such individual. We at Global TV deeply value his mentorship and look forward to his continued guidance and inspiration. Our heartfelt appreciation and respectful salutations to a remarkable individual who continues to light the path for the generations to come.
