ROTARIAN LAL GOEL SPEAKS ON “LIFE BEYOND LIFE — ORGAN DONATION” AT AKASHVANI CHENNAI
Chennai: Rotarian Lal Goel, Founder and Charter President of the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International (RCODI) and Chairman of Organ Donation India Foundation and GYAN, was invited for an exclusive interview on “Life Beyond Life — Organ Donation” at Akashvani (All India Radio), Chennai.

This marks his second interview at Akashvani Chennai within a year, reflecting his continued efforts to raise awareness about organ donation and transplantation.
Renowned journalist Ms. Kaviya Sanjeevi conducted the interview and engaged him in an insightful discussion on the critical shortage of donor organs in India and the urgent need for collective action to address this growing challenge.
Regal President of RCODI, Rtn Hemalatha Bhandari, was also present, along with the Programme Producer and Director of Akashvani Chennai.
During the conversation, Rotarian Lal Goel highlighted the alarming gap between the demand for and availability of organs, the immense potential of deceased organ donation, and the need for greater public awareness, stronger institutional support, and proactive government initiatives.
He emphasised that saving lives through organ donation cannot remain the responsibility of a few organisations or medical professionals. It requires a nationwide people’s movement involving citizens, healthcare institutions, voluntary organisations, educational institutions, and the government.
His message was clear: Every individual can become a lifesaver. Organ donation is not merely a medical procedure; it is a gift of life that can give hope to countless families.
