The National Tech Summit, TECHx: Decoding the Future of IT & Innovation, was for the first time hosted by St Joseph’s Institute of Information Technology,  under guidance and leadership of Fr Denzil Lobo SJ at St. Joseph’s University, Bengaluru on 30th March, 2023. This event brought together leading technology experts, academicians, industry leaders, and students to discuss the latest trends, advancements, and innovations in the field of Information Technology.

 The 2023 National Tech Summit, TECHx featured a diverse group of speakers, each with unique insights and expertise in their respective areas. Here are some of the speakers and their topics: Mr Rajesh Rao – “IT and Games – Creativity + Innovation + Technology”; Mr Nikhil Bhatt – “5G & Beyond”; Mr Brian Pais – “Technology Evolution – AI, Chat GPT Impact and SAP ERP”
It was an excellent opportunity for those interested in the field of Information Technology to learn about the latest trends, innovations, and best practices from experts in the industry.

The summit hosted more than 1200 students in the University Auditorium. Students participated from various other colleges too.


The National Tech Summit, TECHx also offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with industry leaders and gain insights into potential career paths in the technology field. It provides a platform for students to network, ask questions, and learn about emerging technologies that will shape the future of the industry.


Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, the Director of SJIIT, in his introductory remarks spoke about the need of promoting creativity among the youth which could lead to innovation. 

He said that the world is changing and becoming more and more volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous, hence the next generation of students need to prepare themselves well to face the reality of this world.

Mr Rajesh Rao, the founder of Druva Interactive, a gaming company spoke about the role of computer games and the possibilities of enormous amount of jobs for skilled graphics designers. Mr Nikhil Bhatt,Vice President, Research & Development, NOKIA spoke on 5G spectrum and the beyond this technology. Mr Brian Pais, Co-Founder, Digizura Technologies and Senior SAP consultant, specially mentioned the importance of SAP worldwide and that there will be ample opportunities for those who are adept in using this software.

പതിനേഴു വയസ്സുമുതൽ ഞാൻ ഉപജീവനത്തിനുള്ള വക പണിയെടുത്തു കണ്ടെത്താൻ തുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ഇന്ന് സമ്പന്നരായിരിക്കുന്ന എനിക്കറിയുന്ന പല രാഷ്ട്രീയ ‘ജീവനക്കാരും’ എന്നേക്കാൾ ദരിദ്രരായിരുന്നു.

ഒരു വർഷം വിവിധ നികുതികളായി എത്രമാത്രം രൂപയാണ് ഞാൻ ഈ രാജ്യത്തിന് നൽകുന്നത്; 60 കഴിഞ്ഞു ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ നിത്യച്ചിലവുകൾക്കുള്ള വക നൽകാൻ ഈ രാജ്യത്തിനു ബാധ്യതയില്ലേ ? അതോ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാർക്കും സർക്കാർ ജീവനക്കാർക്കും മാത്രമേ നാളിതുവരെയുള്ള എന്റെ വിയർപ്പിന്റെ ഓഹരിക്കുള്ള അവകാശമുള്ളോ ?!

ഈ രാജ്യത്ത് എന്നെ സേവിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ വോട്ടു നൽകി ചുമതലപ്പെടുത്തിയവരായ ഉമ്മനും ആന്റണിയും അച്ചുവും പിണറായിയും ഛോട്ടാ നേതാക്കളും മറ്റുമൊക്കെ ഇന്ന് സമ്പന്നരും അതിസമ്പന്നരുമാണ്. പതിനേഴു വയസ്സുമുതൽ ഞാൻ ഉപജീവനത്തിനുള്ള വക പണിയെടുത്തു കണ്ടെത്താൻ തുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ഇന്ന് സമ്പന്നരായിരിക്കുന്ന എനിക്കറിയുന്ന പല രാഷ്ട്രീയ ‘ജീവനക്കാരും’ എന്നേക്കാൾ ദരിദ്രരായിരുന്നു.

എന്നെ ജോലിയേൽപിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നോ മറ്റു ജീവിതസാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്നോ നാളിതുവരെ അന്യായമായി നയാപൈസ നേടിയിട്ടില്ലാത്തതിനാൽ ഞാൻ ഈ രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരിൽനിന്നും വ്യത്യസ്തമായി ഈ 58ലും കഠിനമായി പണിയെടുക്കുകയാണ്. ഇന്നിവിടെക്കാണുന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയ സാഹചര്യംവച്ച് എന്റെ നാളെയെക്കുറിച്ചു എനിക്ക് ആശങ്കയുണ്ട്.

ഒരു പക്ഷേ ഇനി ഉണ്ടാവില്ലായിരിക്കും… അതാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട,

സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ മികച്ച വില്ലേജ് ഓഫീസർ ആയി തെരെഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ജയ്സൺ സാർ…

എന്റെ കടയുടെ അടുത്താണ് വില്ലേജ് ഓഫീസ്… അവിടെ രാത്രിയും വെളിച്ചമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അമ്പരക്കേണ്ട…. ജയ്സൺ സാറ് പോയിട്ടില്ല… ജോലിയിലാണ് 🌹
രാത്രി 8.15 നു ഞാൻ കടയടക്കുവാനുള്ള തയ്യാറെടുപ്പുകൾ തുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ സാർ ഓടുന്നത് കാണാം… നെടുംകണ്ടതിനുള്ള ബസ് പിടിക്കാനാണ് ആ ഓട്ടം… ഒരു മണിക്കൂറിൽ കൂടുതലുള്ള യാത്ര… അതും കഴിഞ്ഞു വീട്ടിലെത്തുമ്പോൾ 10 മണിയെങ്കിലും ആവില്ലേ…. എന്നും രാവിലേ 9 മണിക്ക് മുൻപ് ആള് ഓഫിസിൽ ഹാജർ…. ഞായറാഴ്ച ദിവസവും ലീവൊന്നുമില്ല കക്ഷി ഓഫീസിൽ തിരക്കിട്ട പണികളുമായി രാത്രിവരെ ഉണ്ടാവും…
2018 ലേ പ്രളയകാലം… കട്ടപ്പന സെന്റ് ജോർജ്ജ് സ്കൂളാണ് പ്രധാന ദുരിതാശ്വാസ ക്യാമ്പ്… മുഖ്യചുമതലയിൽ സാർ രാത്രിയും പകലും അവിടെ ഉണ്ട്‌… ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ ക്യാമ്പിൽ നിന്നും ഓഫിസിൽ ഓടി വന്നു ഫയലുകൾ ഒപ്പിട്ടു മടങ്ങുന്നത് കാണാം…. ഒരു ദിവസം രാത്രി 9 മണി കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ കടയിലേക്ക് കയറി വന്നു…. ഒരു പാന്റും ഷർട്ടും വേണം… എടുത്തു കൊടുത്തു… ഇന്നും വീട്ടിൽ പോകുന്നില്ലേ എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഒരു ചെറു ചിരി മാത്രം… ഇപ്പോൾ ആലപ്പുഴയ്ക്ക് പോകുകയാണു…. കട്ടപ്പന ക്യാമ്പിൽ അധികം വന്ന ഭക്ഷ്യ സാധനങ്ങളും വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും ആലപ്പുഴ കളക്റ്ററേ റ്റിൽ എത്തിക്കണം എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു പെട്ടെന്ന് തന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം പോയി… പിറ്റേന്ന് രാവിലേ ഞാൻ കട തുറക്കുമ്പോൾ അതാ മുൻപിലൂടെ പോകുന്നു കക്ഷി 🤔 ഇന്നലെ രാത്രി വാങ്ങിയ ഡ്രസ്സ്‌ ധരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്…. സാറിന്നലേ ആലപ്പുഴയ്ക്ക് പോകുന്നു എന്ന് പറഞിട്ട് പോയില്ലേ എന്ന് ഞാൻ ചോദിച്ചു…. പോയി…. ഇപ്പോൾ തിരികെ എത്തിയതേ ഉള്ളൂ…. ഇനി വീട്ടിൽ പോയാൽ താമസിക്കും… അത് കൊണ്ട് ഓഫിസിൽ നിന്ന് തന്നെ കുളിച്ചു റെഡി ആയി…. വാ പൊളിച്ചു നിന്ന് പോയി… രാത്രി മുഴുവൻ ലോറിയിൽ ഉള്ള യാത്ര… അതും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഹൈറേഞ്ച് റോഡിലൂടെ ആടിയുലഞ്ഞു… ഒന്നുറങ്ങണം എന്ന് വച്ചാൽ കൂടി കഴിയില്ല 🙏 അപ്പോഴാണ് എടുക്കാവുന്ന ന്യായമായ ലീവ് പോലും എടുക്കാതെ, ഉറങ്ങാതെ ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ വീണ്ടും ജോലിക്ക് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്… അത്ഭുതമാണ് മാഷേ… നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങൾ കട്ടപ്പനക്കാർക്ക് ….ഒരിക്കൽ മാത്രം കണ്ടു, ഭാര്യയും മക്കളുമൊത്തു കാപ്പി കുടിക്കാൻ മ്മ്‌ടെ ബേക്കറിയിൽ വന്നൊരു കാഴ്ച…. സത്യത്തിൽ അവർക്കും ഒരവാർഡ് കൊടുക്കണം… ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ കർമ മണ്ഡലത്തിൽ അക്ഷീണം പ്രയത്നിക്കാൻ വിട്ടു കൊടുക്കുന്നതിനു… കട്ടപ്പനക്കാരുടെ പേരിൽ അവരോടു നന്ദി പറയുന്നു.. അക്ഷയ സെന്ററിൽ നിന്ന് ആപ്ലിക്കേഷൻ കൊടുത്തു 15 മിനിറ്റ് കഴിയുമ്പോഴേക്കും വില്ലജ് ഓഫീസിൽ നിന്നും സർട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റ് റെഡി എന്ന മെസ്സേജ് ഫോണിൽ വരണമെങ്കിൽ സാറേ നിങ്ങൾ കട്ടപ്പനയിൽ ഉണ്ടാവണം 🙏നിങ്ങളെ പോലുള്ളവരെ സാറേ എന്ന് മനസ്സ് നിറഞ്ഞു തന്നെയാണ് ഞങ്ങൾ വിളിക്കുന്നത്‌ 🌹 ഔദ്യോഗിക മേഖലയിൽ കൂടുതൽ ഉയരങ്ങളിൽ എത്താൻ കഴിയട്ടെ എന്നാശംസിക്കുകയും ഈ പുരസ്‌കാരം അർഹതയ്ക്കുള്ള അംഗീകാരം തന്നെയാണെന്ന് അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങൾ അറിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു 🌹

Ram Chandra Prasad Singh, Minister of Steel, visited New Mangalore Port

It was told, the Minister expressed happiness & appreciated the Port developmental works and various infrastructure facilities provided.

The Minister’s visit to the Port was part of his two day official visit to Kudremukh Iron Ore Co. Ltd. (KIOCL), Mangalore between 19th & 20th February 2022.

Union Minister of Steel, Ram Chandra Prasad Singh paid a visit to New Mangalore Port on 20th February 2022.

Upon his arrival at the Port, the Hon’ble Minister was welcomed by Dr. A. V. Ramana, Chairman, New Mangalore Port along with Deputy Chairman & Senior Officials of the Port. The Minister was accorded a guard of honor by the CISF personnel from NMP Unit. The Minister took a ride on tug boat inside the Port and oversaw the berths and various infrastructural facilities provided by the Port. The Minister was apprised about several infrastructural and technological advancements harnessed by the Port.

Later the Minister had a meeting with the Port Management, Officials of KIOCL & JSW and reviewed the handling facilities for iron ore fines / raw materials import and export of iron ore pellets of KIOCL at New Mangalore Port and discussed in detail the future plans. During the meeting the Minister was briefed by the Chairman on Port’s future plans as well as a host of initiatives undertaken to enhance its Ease of Doing Business, Green Port Initiatives etc. future expansion programs, infrastructure projects and other proposals for enhancing the productivity of the Port.
