NLP Group Therapy | Unlocking the Power of CS | Start with Common Sense | Grow with Concentration, and Master with Sensory Activation | Global TV with ISNLP

NV Paulose, Chairman, Global TV +91 98441 82044

Common Sense is an essential quality that we are lacking in today’s fast-paced and technology-driven society.  Logic and reason are frequently overshadowed by emotions and impulsiveness. NLP Group Therapy is built on the premises of two letters; C and S. You can achieve great things in your life by embracing these letters and engaging with underlying initiatives around these letters.

Your Common Sense unique. It cannot be compared with the Common Sense of another person. What is that governing the way of your life? Begin to focus on simple things that can work wonders for you. Know your strengths before you Set your targets. Elicit unconscious signal which is the language of your mind.

Concentration Building, and Sensory Activation are the next levels. Little by little or sometimes at once, we can make a drastic transformation in your lives. It is all about how you would like to pursue your life. Would you love to make your own mind to get organised? Let your unconscious mind to work wonders for you!

The Decline of Common Sense

Common sense is the foundation upon which civilized societies are built. It’s the ability to think critically, make sound judgments, and behave in a way that’s respectful and considerate of others. Yet, despite its importance, common sense seems to be in short supply. We see it in the way people interact with each other and the way they make decisions that affect them and those around them.

Concentration Building: The Key to Unlocking Potential

One way to reclaim control over your life is to cultivate concentration. When we’re able to focus our minds, we’re better equipped to think critically and make sound decisions. Concentration building is essential in today’s world, where distractions are plentiful and attention spans are short.

So, how can we build concentration? We have few strategies that are custom made to suit with different types of people and to help them connect with their powerful realities. You will get hold of your emotional world effectively in the first few minutes of NLP group therapy itself. Thereafter you will learn the art of emotional driving towards excellence. You will set your own terms to find peace within and to connect with the strong areas that keep your energy high. Slowly but steadily you will know the areas where you can make corrections as well.

Sensory Activation: Awakening the Senses

There are ways to unlock your potential and to engage your senses to get the kind of positivity that you are looking for. When we’re able to tap our positive sensory experiences, we’re more alive and present in the world. Sensory activation is an easy way to build up creativity, innovation, and problem-solving.

Universal Wisdom: Guiding Principles for a Better World

The foundation upon which we can build a better world is the universal wisdom of trust, truth, dignity, and integrity. These principles are timeless.

– Trust: Trust is the glue that holds relationships together. When we trust others, we create a sense of safety and security that allows us to flourish.

– Truth: Truth is the foundation upon which all relationships are built. When we’re honest and transparent, we create a sense of authenticity and credibility that earns us the respect of others.

– Dignity: Dignity is the inherent worth and value that every human being possesses. When we treat others with dignity and respect, we create a sense of community and belonging that’s essential for our well-being.

– Integrity: Integrity is the integration of our words and actions. When we act with integrity, we create a sense of trust and credibility that’s essential for building strong relationships and achieving our goals.

Abraham Accords | Leadership in 21st Century is to Move towards Truth. Justice and Collaboration are they ways for the Collective Global Power; Dr. CP Habeeb Rahaman | Global TV

Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman’s Vision for Ethical Leadership | Leadership in the 21st Century: Truth, Justice, and Shared Global Power | Global TV

NV Paulose, Chairman, Global TV +91 98441 82044

The world is rapidly moving towards globalization, technological revolutions, and creation of huge structures. The concept of leadership is undergoing a profound transformation. Reflecting on these shifts, Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman, renowned thought leader and the Chairman and Mediacal Director of Unity group of Institutions delves deep into the dynamics of development and its impact of the equations in power, finance, politics and leadership in the emerging world.

He is presenting and advocating a compelling vision for a future of the world as a single humanity led by truth, justice, and ethical governance. He propose what is called the Abraham Accords to be promoted at the centre of conflict and thereby to transform the problem into a possibility for transformation. The Religions that believe in one God should come together and discuss on the uniting factors and open the doors for larger collaboration with every other religion on the basis of fundamental principles that govern the conduct of the universe.

The Interconnection of Power, Finance, and Leadership

Power and finance, as Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman notes, are complexly linked in the modern world. Leaders in politics and business wield significant influence over global affairs, steering economies and determining the fates of millions. Yet, this power, as he highlights, is often driven by the pursuit of profit and personal gain, rather than the collective welfare of humanity.

A key element in his discourse is his candid acknowledgment of the influential role the Jewish community has played in shaping global markets. He recognizes their contributions to innovation, business, and cultural advancement, while also urging a critical examination of the impact that concentrated financial power can have on global equality and justice. He presents a broader critique of systems that allow wealth and influence to remain concentrated in the hands of a few which often go at the expense of the many. He warns against a system that prioritizes profit over people, where financial markets dictate political agendas and overshadow the needs of vulnerable populations.

This is the single most reason that results in a world where systemic inequalities persist, and the voices of the marginalized are drowned out by corporate interests. We should grow as single humanity built on the foundation of truth and justice. Peace always go with justice and it prevails where truth is practiced.

A Call for Ethical Leadership

In contrast to the exploitative models of power that dominate global governance, Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman advocates for leadership grounded in universal values of truth and justice. True leadership, he asserts, is not defined by wealth, dominance, or manipulation but by the moral courage to prioritize human welfare above all else. He draws inspiration from two iconic historical figures; Abraham Lincoln and Mahatma Gandhi. The lives of them exemplified leadership rooted in ethics and compassion. Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman further goes into the history of pick the story of Abraham, who is revered as the patriarch of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. He is a symbol of moral integrity and unwavering commitment to justice, even in the face of adversity. His leadership was marked not by material wealth but by his steadfast adherence to truth and righteousness.

In contemporary history, Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy as a leader who championed nonviolence, truth (Satya), and social justice offers a timeless lesson. His movements for Indian independence were not fuelled by political ambition but by a deep commitment to uplift the oppressed and create a society based on equity, equality and fairness. Gandhi’s emphasis on morality over might remain an inspiration for ethical leadership for generations to come.

Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman draws parallels on the two lessons and draw power from the leadership models. The 21st century needs leaders who embody these same values. The new Trump as we see in the Second Trump Administration, he hopes, can rise above personal ambition and champion the causes of justice, equality, and human dignity. Abraham Accord should be promoted on the shared wall of Judaism, Islam and Christianity according to Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman.

Power should not become a Threat to Justice

Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman critiques the growing dominance of financial interests in shaping global policies. Multinational corporations and financial institutions wield significant influence over governments, often prioritize profit over human rights, environmental sustainability, and social welfare. This financialization of power, he argues, poses a serious threat to global justice.

The unchecked power of financial elites undermines democracy, tilting policies in favour of the privileged few while neglecting the needs of the many. From trade agreements to environmental regulations, decisions are often made to serve corporate interests, side lining critical issues like poverty alleviation, healthcare, and education. His call is for a re-evaluation of global power structures.

Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman envisions a shift toward ethical governance where leaders are accountable to the people they serve. Policies are crafted to promote fairness, equality, and collective well-being. Stoppage of war is a good sign. It has to progress towards building a humanity on the foundation of truth and justice. Maximum Justice for Maximum People should be our way forward.

A Vision for Ethical Governance

Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman’s vision for leadership is not merely a critique of current systems but a roadmap for transformation. He emphasizes the need for leaders who are guided by moral principles rather than personal ambition. Such leaders, he believes, would prioritize people over profits, justice over exploitation, and sustainability over short-term gains.

His vision extends beyond politics to include corporate and community leaders as well. He calls for a leadership model that empowers people and communities, fosters inclusivity, and addresses inequalities. This needs an essential rethinking in governance, one that places truth, justice, and morality at its core.

Building a Just and Sustainable Future

Dr. CP Habeeb Rahman’s call to action is very challenging. But it is desirable and appropriate to resolve economic inequality and social unrest. He believes that ethical leadership is not just an ideal but a necessity for resolving the crises that the world is facing today, globally and at various other level.

The principles of truth and justice are the ways for leaders to create systems that uplift the marginalized, bridge societal divides, and ensure a more equitable distribution of resources. This approach is morally right and are essential for the long-term stability and sustainability of global communities.

MIIT | Mangalore is a land of Inspiration, Innovation and Transformation. Anything that was initiated in Mangalore has become a global role model for the world and classic examples of success stories | Global TV

People with Mangalore Origin or Connection are highly respected across the world | Mangalore is A Cradle of Inspiration, Innovation and Transformation | Global TV

NV Paulose, Chairman, Global TV +91 98441 82044

Mangalore is a city with a difference. Mangalore is an idea, a movement, and a symbol of what human vision can achieve. From the pioneering Mangalore tiles that laid the foundation of an industry to becoming a hub for banking, education, healthcare, and IT, Mangalore has consistently shown the world how local innovations can spark global transformations.

The KRR Team, if we can identify and call them so with that name, is a shining example for what an inspired teamwork can imagine and an evidence for they can achieve the impossible with sheer dynamism and determination.

Interestingly, Global TV had inspiration and synergy with interaction with the team members at many occasions since 1995, ever prior to the inception of Global TV in 2002. We have several interesting stories to tell. Imagine, how many stories the KRR Team could share when they join together to celebrate their memories.

The Ullal Conclave is one of the Classic Memories for every Member in the KRR Team. Memory has the power to recreate history. Can we think about the Ullal Conclave once again with a renewed purpose? This is the question that we ask with the KRR Team. Many great things can happen with such an initiative.

We have gained valuable insights into the power of collaborative innovation through numerous interactions and inspiration-sharing sessions with great men and women like them. Global TV wishes to launch an unconventional campaign that celebrates the spirit of Mangalore’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Our aim is to inspire a new generation of leaders, thinkers, and change-makers who embody the Mangalorean ethos of creativity, dynamism, and collective progress.

Know our story and history a bit

Global TV was launched in the year 2002 – 2003 in this city of possibilities. As the first Internet TV in the world, it preceded YouTube almost by five years as it came like a storm and the rest is history. Today, the social media landscape is saturated with unfiltered content; 95% of which lacks the integrity of traditional journalism. Media, in its truest sense, requires an editorial backbone; a system of checks and balances with responsible editors ensuring the quality and credibility of information. YouTube while doing great things at one side with an AI intensive system is misguiding the world in moral ethics and economic ecosystem.

Human efforts are disgraced and their time is unpaid in the pretext of free space given to upload Videos. It is like you keep a store room, Godown or a warehouse open for people to keep their agriculture produce. Few of them are paid and rest are sent back with empty hands. This is not the right way. Give the men the value of their labour before their sweat is set. We as a nation failed to make media a respected platform like the IT industry or Banking Sector.

How many people are working free in these sectors? No body. Only farmers and Media people are forced to work for free in the world; particularly in India. Do we go to a hotel and have tea for free in the pretext that we know the owner of the tea shop. But we will go to a farm and take the produce and go away without paying for the sweat of the labour. We will take a book from an author and shamelessly walk away in various pretexts. ₹150/- to whatever you give for the book when pooled will make it a viable project. Thousand people not giving the same ₹150/- will steel ₹1,50,000/- from the savings of the humble author.

This is the cause of the added unemployment crisis in India!

Global TV’s vision of “One Million Resident Editors” is a transformative idea, addressing both the erosion of media standards and the alarming unemployment crisis in India. This initiative, born in Mangalore, has the potential to not only restore the dignity of media but also create a million jobs, providing meaningful careers to India’s youth. A single act of connecting people to their natives can do wonders in creating millions of opportunities for people in media space.

Mangalore is a Place with the Credentials for Movements

Throughout history of India, only a few places have had the credentials to ignite movements that reshape societies. Anand, for instance, became the birthplace of the White Revolution under the leadership of Dr. Verghese Kurien and Tribhuvandas Patel. This singular initiative transformed India into the largest producer of milk in the world, empowering millions of rural farmers and becoming a global model for cooperative success.

Mangalore, like Anand, holds a similar pedigree. Its legacy of innovation, combined with its unique ability to incubate transformative ideas, has made it a cradle for movements with far-reaching impact. Whether in banking, education, healthcare, tourism or now media and employment, Mangalore has consistently proven itself as a land of inspiration, innovation, and transformation.

Despite amazing economic growth, India’s youth face scarcity of opportunities. Career-intensive initiatives like this can tap into India’s demographic dividend, creating millions of jobs by fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.

The role of Media is like the role of salt in every food. You can’t prepare any food without salt, but you cannot make it as food itself!

Media should focus on being a supporter, not a competitor. Its true purpose is to amplify the efforts of others, not to overshadow them. When media tries to become a standalone entity, it risks losing its way. By staying true to its role as a catalyst, media can help entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders succeed, rather than competing for the same spotlight.

The role of media is fundamental and universal. Everyone needs Media. Everyone responsible should be part of it. Media serves as a bridge, connecting people, ideas, and opportunities. Its strength lies in its ability to amplify voices, highlight achievements, and create platforms for dialogue for growth.

We can create opportunities for One Million Resident Editors (Minimum of 100 in every district) When we position them as facilitators of Growth.

This role is best fulfilled when media remains a facilitator. Global TV is not a competitor to anyone. We wish to stay focused on elevating others. Our Aim is to strengthen all others and position them as our essential partner in success.

When media begins to position itself as a standalone competitor, it risks diluting its purpose. Instead of being the platform that supports innovation and progress, it may find itself competing for attention. This shift undermines its credibility and erodes its essential spirit of collaboration.  Media should empower entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders, rather than overshadowing or competing with them.

By embracing its role as a shared resource, media ensures that it remains relevant and purposeful. Everyone benefits when media fosters collaboration, rather than rivalry; both within its own domain and with the enterprises it seeks to support. When media works as a unifying force, it fulfils its mission of informing, inspiring, and transforming society and enabling collective success for all.

The Future of Media and Employment

There is a need for a paradigm shift in media and employment. Loose content on platforms like YouTube has the cost of credibility. Global TV seeks participation of every responsible citizen to make a balance in Media by bringing a human intense system that is firm in upholding the principles of responsible journalism.

Media need not be a Capital Intensive Project. But Media can strengthen many of them by complementing them with additional revenue models. We should learn the art of complementing capital-intensive projects with career-intensive drives. India can easily ensure an inclusive growth between both of them.

Projects like Global TV’s One Million Resident Editors program demonstrates in simple terms about how human orientation with technology and innovation can be leveraged to transform the entire economic scenario in the country. We can create more revenue opportunities with every establishments with them spending peanuts for developing a large referral network for their own growth.

Development is all about creating more jobs. Growth is to up skill the workforce, and to promote entrepreneurship spirit into everyone’s blood. We stand firm in our vision and action and we strive to create a better future for all.

This is an invitation for the brilliant minds of Mangalore and beyond to contribute to a mission that has the potential to transform lives and societies. Like the White Revolution or the Salt Satyagraha, our initiative too is rooted in the strong belief that small, well-knit actions can spark global transformations.

Let us begin with a Uniform Change!

India’s culture of career uniforms has inadvertently perpetuated a hierarchy of dignity, with certain professions being relegated to low-profile attire. This is evident in the uniforms designed for drivers, service staff, and critical services personnel, which often lack the dignity and respect afforded to their counterparts in foreign countries. It’s time for us to rethink this approach and create uniforms that command respect and dignity, regardless of the profession.

A significant shift in this mindset could be achieved by introducing combo careers that blend multiple roles and responsibilities, with a focus on integrating media roles. For instance, a Tourism Ambassador could also serve as a Resident Editor, responsible for creating engaging content and promoting local culture through various media channels. Similarly, a Service Engineer could double as a Correspondent, sharing technical expertise and insights with a wider audience.

By combining roles in this way, we can break down the emotional barriers and foster a more integrated, dignified approach to work.

The proposed National Launch of combo careers could be a game-changer in this regard. By introducing roles like Resident Editors, Associate Editors, and Correspondents across various industries, we can create a new paradigm for career progression and professional growth. A driver, for example, could also be a Resident Manager, overseeing logistics and operations while sharing their expertise through media channels. This approach would enhance the dignity of various professions and provide a platform for individuals to develop multiple skills, explore new interests, and contribute meaningfully to society.

Empowering Role-Based Unity

Imagine you walking into a uniform store in any city and selecting an attire that reflects your desired role. Instantly, connecting with others in the city recognizes with the same attire. You are building and embodying a profession for you and many others. A uniform can become much more than just a symbol. Uniform represents a shared identity and purpose. Our vision is to create welcome spaces for the like-minded to converge and connect people of shared passions.

These gatherings will foster a sense of community and facilitate the exchange of ideas. Imagine each teams is connected with another hundred teams across India exchanging ideas and data. To amplify this movement, the Global TV platform will run mentorship programs, guiding participants through the principles of Appreciative Inquiry and its 5D Model.

Appreciative Inquiry framework will empower individuals to:

1. Discover their strengths and passions

2. Dream of a desired future

3. Design innovative solutions

4. Deliver tangible outcomes

5. Destiny – create a lasting impact

This is a transformative journey for role-based unity and collaborative innovation to redefine our career and destiny and the fabric of our society. This will empower a Million Careers when we unite in a Nationwide Movement to Boost Tourism and MSME Growth. Imagine 10 teams of 10 individuals are formed in every major city across India’s districts to promote tourism. These 100-strong Tourism Ambassadors and Guides would be empowered with combo careers, assuming roles such as Resident Managers, Associate Editors, and Correspondents.

This innovative approach would instantly create a million careers, fostering economic growth and development. To support this massive initiative, a robust infrastructure can be established, comprising Regional, Zonal, and Headquarters facilities. This will provide the necessary resources, mentorship, and facilitation for the teams to thrive. Just as a bank’s branch network is strengthened by its Head Office, Zonal Office, and Regional Offices, our initiative would provide a solid foundation for MSMEs to collaborate, grow, and flourish.

“The Magic of Seven: Unlocking Optimal Team Dynamics”
(We have published a book on this)

The Magic Seven Philosophy, adopted by Global TV, is rooted in the idea that a team of seven members is the ideal size for fostering unified thinking and effective facilitation. This principle is supported by various cognitive and social psychological theories. For instance, Miller’s Law (1956) suggests that the average person can only maintain around seven chunks of information in their working memory. Similarly, the concept of “Dunbar’s Number” (1993) proposes that humans can comfortably maintain relationships with around 150 people, with a core group of around 7-10 individuals.

When teams exceed seven members, they can become unwieldy and prone to groupthink. As the team size increases, the potential for conflicting opinions and decreased cohesion also rises. On the other hand, teams with fewer than seven members may lack the diversity of perspectives and skills necessary for effective problem-solving. By restricting teams to a maximum of seven members, Global TV encourages a balance between individual contributions and collective synergy.

The Magic Seven Philosophy is not about isolating teams, but rather about creating a nucleus of collaborative individuals who can then co-create and collaborate with other teams. By doing so, Global TV fosters a culture of innovation, creativity, and effective teamwork. As teams work together, they can leverage their collective strengths to achieve common goals, ultimately driving success and growth.

MSME is the Future of India | Can Banking Bend a Little to Take MSMEs to the Next Level? | Global TV

BEND A LITTLE AND SPEND A LITTLE MORE TIME | EXPAND MSME TO EVERY UNTAPPED SEGMENTS | GLOBAL TV

NV Paulose, Chairman, Global TV +91 98441 82044

The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has long been the backbone of the economy, contributing significantly to employment, innovation, and GDP growth. We can leap into the economic landscape by introducing the MSME Models in any sector like Media, particularly in Social Media and in Non-Periodical Print Media. Despite its critical importance and huge potential MSMEs are still kept in isolation with one another.

This is the major reason for MSMEs continue to face significant challenges in accessing financial support, market linkages, and other essential resources. The question arises: can banking bend a little to unlock the true potential of MSMEs?

A Case for Change in Banking Practices

For decades, traditional banking has adhered to a risk-averse model, prioritizing collateral-based lending and stringent eligibility criteria. While this approach ensures financial stability for banks, it excludes a vast segment of MSMEs that lack tangible assets or formal credit histories.

In today’s digital and interconnected world, it is imperative for banks to evolve their practices and embrace flexibility. Doing so would not only benefit MSMEs but also catalyze economic growth on a broader scale.

Banks should move from the ‘Bankers Interest’ Mindset to the ‘Facilitators Commission’ Mindset!

What does this mean? Imagine a person approaching the bank for a loan to procure infrastructure and tools to create a facility to conduct a shooting for TV episodes and Non-periodical Publications. Bank is asked to give a loan of ₹10, 00,000/-. One bank takes it as an individual case and offers a loan at 10% Interest. Another Bank takes it as an opportunity in line with the principle of the 100th Monkey phenomenon. It is a popular concept that stems from studies about how new behavioural patterns are born in societies.

What Is the 100th Monkey Concept?

The concept originates from a story about Japanese researchers in the 1950s who studied macaque monkeys on the island of Koshima. The story goes that one monkey learned to wash sweet potatoes before eating them, and this behaviour gradually spread through imitation to other monkeys in the group. Once a critical mass (e.g., the “100th monkey”) adopted the behaviour, it allegedly spread instantaneously and mysteriously to monkeys on other islands.

The 100th Monkey phenomenon has become a metaphor for the idea that when a critical mass of people adopt an idea, behaviour, or innovation, it creates a tipping point where the behaviour spreads rapidly and widely. Collective consciousness and shared wisdom lead to spontaneous and simultaneous changes across groups.

Hence the second Bank captures the idea and understands there is a potential for One Million such loans in the country. They open negotiations with companies that can provide the facilities with better qualities at a cost of ₹8,00, 000/- each also with a commission of 10% and an advance cash payment incentive of 2%.

The Bank offers the loan for 6% Interest giving 3 years’ time to repay the loan with a down payment of ₹2,00, 000/-.

Let’s break this down and calculate the financial aspects based on the information provided.

Scenario

  • Loan amount: ₹10,00,000 (as requested by the individual for infrastructure and tools to conduct a shooting).
  • Bank 1: Offers loan at 10% interest (traditional interest-based mindset).
  • Bank 2: Moves to a commission mindset, negotiating with suppliers for better pricing and terms, offering loans at 6% interest with a down payment of ₹2,00,000. It also includes supplier commissions.

Bank 1: Interest-Based Loan at 10%

Loan Details:

  • Loan amount: ₹10,00,000
  • Interest rate: 10% per annum
  • Repayment period: 3 years

This gives an EMI of ₹32,267.

Total Repayment:

  • Total paid over 36 months = 32,267×36=₹11,61,61232
  • Total interest paid = ₹11,61,612−₹10,00,000=₹1,61,612

Bank 2: Commission-Based Loan at 6%

Loan Details:

  • Negotiated cost: ₹8,00,000
  • Commission for bank: 10% of ₹8,00,000 = ₹80,000
  • Advance cash payment incentive for supplier: 2% of ₹8,00,000 = ₹16,000
  • Total upfront payment from the bank to the supplier: ₹8,00,000 – ₹80,000 – ₹16,000 = ₹7,04,000
  • Down payment by the borrower: ₹2,00,000
  • Loan amount financed by the bank: ₹6,00,000
  • Interest rate: 6% per annum
  • Repayment period: 3 years

EMI Calculation:

Using the same EMI formula:

This gives an EMI of ₹18,297.

Total Repayment:

  • Total paid over 36 months = ₹18,297×36=₹6,58,
  • Total interest paid = ₹6,58,692−₹6,00,000=₹58,692

Comparison of Scenarios

AspectBank 1 (Interest Mindset)Bank 2 (Commission Mindset)
Loan Amount₹10,00,000₹6,00,000
Interest Rate10%6%
Total Interest Paid₹1,61,612₹58,692
Total Repayment (3 years)₹11,61,612₹6,58,692
Down Payment by BorrowerNone₹2,00,000
Negotiated Infrastructure CostNot applicable₹8,00,000
Commission Earned by BankNone₹80,000
Supplier IncentiveNone₹16,000

Key Takeaways

  1. Cost Efficiency: Bank 2 reduces the infrastructure cost by negotiating and passes some of the savings to the borrower.
  2. Borrower Benefits: The borrower pays less overall with lower interest rates and a smaller principal amount to repay.
  3. Bank Revenue: Bank 2 generates commission revenue while offering better loan terms, creating a win-win scenario.
  4. Scalability: If the bank can implement this model across 1 million such loans, it opens up enormous economic potential and reinforces the 100th Monkey concept by encouraging similar ventures nationwide.

Bank 2’s innovative model leverages multiple revenue streams to maximize returns while maintaining a lower interest burden on the borrower. With a loan amount of ₹6,00,000, the bank generates a total income of ₹1,54,692, comprising ₹58,692 from interest and an additional ₹96,000 from commission and supplier incentives. This represents a return of 25.78% on the loan amount, significantly higher than the 16.16% return achieved by Bank 1.

Additionally, Bank 2 secures a down payment of ₹2,00,000 from the borrower upfront, ensuring immediate liquidity and reducing the risk on the loan. The ₹80,000 commission and ₹16,000 supplier incentive further add to the bank’s revenue, received alongside the down payment, enabling Bank 2 to generate substantial income even before the loan repayment begins. This model not only enhances profitability but also creates a win-win situation by lowering the borrower’s overall repayment burden.

This model not only benefits the individual borrower but also demonstrates the potential for scalability. If the bank replicates this approach across one million such loans nationwide, it could revolutionize the lending landscape. By moving from an interest-driven mindset to a commission-driven approach, banks can unlock economic opportunities, encourage entrepreneurial ventures, and create a ripple effect of financial growth and innovation. The 100th Monkey phenomenon underpins this approach, showing how a small behavioural shift at scale can lead to widespread economic transformation.

Reducing the actual loan exposure

In the case of Bank 2, the ₹96,000 (₹80,000 commission + ₹16,000 supplier incentive) is earned at the very beginning of the transaction, effectively reducing the actual loan exposure to ₹5,04,000 (₹6,00,000 loan – ₹96,000 upfront earnings). This creates a significant additional advantage for the bank:

Lower Risk Exposure: With only ₹5,04,000 at actual risk instead of ₹6,00,000, the bank minimizes its financial exposure while still earning interest on the full loan amount.

Enhanced Effective Return: The ₹58,692 interest earned over three years on the reduced risk of ₹5, 04,000 translates to an effective return of 11.64% on the actual exposure. Combined with the upfront ₹96,000, the total return on the actual exposure rises substantially, making the model even more profitable.

Improved Liquidity: The ₹96,000 earned upfront can be reinvested or used for operational purposes, boosting the bank’s liquidity and enabling it to fund more loans or generate additional revenue streams.

Sustainable Revenue Model: Expanding income sources through commissions and supplier incentives, the bank achieves profitability without heavily relying on interest payments. Create a sustainable and borrower-friendly revenue model.

In essence, Bank 2’s approach not only improves profitability but also reduces risk and enhances cash flow, making it a more efficient and advantageous model.

Be Alert! The 100th Monkey Phenomenon Keeps Happening in the World

The 100th Monkey phenomenon is a striking metaphor for how collective consciousness can drive rapid societal transformations. In every field, from technology to culture, there comes a moment when resistance gives way to widespread adoption. Take, for instance, the arrival of computers. Initially met with skepticism and fear of redundancy, computers have now become indispensable across industries. Similarly, tractors revolutionized agriculture, yet they were once resisted by farmers who feared they would disrupt traditional practices. These examples serve as reminders that resisting change only delays progress. The world keeps evolving, and when a tipping point is reached, even the most resistant forces must align with the flow of transformation.

Micro Global TV, as introduced by Global TV, exemplifies the emergence of a modern phenomenon destined to gain traction worldwide. This innovative concept envisions a new wave of “Resident Editors” and “Managers” who will facilitate local and global communication, enabling communities to access real-time information and opportunities. The initiative aims to harness the intellectual potential of just 0.1% of the population to act as enablers for the rest, showcasing how a small but influential group can drive significant change. As more people recognize the value of this model, the tipping point will soon arrive, leading to its widespread adoption. Just like the 100th monkey’s act of washing sweet potatoes created a ripple effect, so too will the Micro Global TV concept inspire a new era of decentralized, empowered communication.

India’s rapid progress in education and awareness underscores the need for institutions like banks to embrace these shifts. The metaphor of elephants being tied in cattle sheds is apt—restricting immense potential in outdated systems is both unsustainable and counterproductive. Banks, as facilitators of growth, must shift from a “Bankers Interest” mindset to a “Facilitators Commission” mindset, recognizing opportunities beyond conventional paradigms. By aligning themselves with transformative concepts like Micro Global TV, they can not only support innovation but also position themselves at the forefront of societal change, ensuring they move ahead with the inevitable flow of progress.

Reimagining Banking for MSMEs

Here are ways in which the banking sector can “bend a little” to better serve MSMEs:

1. Move Beyond Collateral-Based Lending

MSMEs often operate with limited physical assets, making collateral-based lending a significant barrier. Instead, banks can adopt credit scoring models powered by data analytics, which assess repayment capacity based on cash flow, and business performance. Banks can monitor the transactions as well. Recall the introduction of PoS Machines where the Branch Manager were reluctant to take it up saying a hundred reasons. They could not understand the 100th Monkey concept as it was emerging and sweeping the way cash was removed from transactions.

2. Micro-lending through Digital Platforms

By leveraging technology, banks can directly disburse small and microloans to MSMEs through digital platforms. This eliminates the need for intermediaries, reduces costs, and makes the loan approval process quicker and more efficient.

3. Personalized Financial Products

MSMEs operate in diverse sectors, each with its unique challenges. Banks can develop sector-specific financial products tailored to the needs of different industries, such as flexible repayment schedules for seasonal businesses or working capital loans for exporters.

4. Financial Literacy Programs

Many MSMEs lack formal knowledge of financial management. By investing in financial literacy programs, banks can empower MSMEs to make better financial decisions, ultimately reducing default rates.

5. Collaborative Ecosystems

Banks can partner with Professional training establishments like the Indian Society for NLP (ISNLP) to create ecosystems that provide training and mentorship for the people engaged in MSMEs along with financial support.

The Role of Digitization in Bridging the Gap

The advent of digital technologies offers a transformative opportunity for banks to serve MSMEs more effectively. Here’s how digitization can be a game-changer:

  • Real-Time Risk Assessment: AI-powered tools can evaluate creditworthiness in real time, considering non-traditional data points like transaction history and customer feedback.
  • Streamlined Loan Processing: Digital platforms can drastically reduce the time and paperwork involved in loan approvals.
  • Increased Outreach: Mobile banking and online platforms can extend financial services to MSMEs in remote and rural areas, promoting financial inclusion.

The Need for an External Ecosystem

While banks can and should adapt, the broader MSME ecosystem also requires strengthening. This calls for the creation of an external management, facilitation, and mentoring system that complements banking services. Such a system would provide MSMEs with:

  • Training and Capacity Building: Enhancing skills in areas like digital marketing, financial management, and compliance.
  • Innovation Support: Facilitating research, development, and incubation for MSMEs to innovate and compete globally.
  • Market Linkages: Connecting MSMEs with larger enterprises, government projects, and export markets.

What’s in It for Banks?

For banks, bending a little isn’t just about altruism; it’s also good business. MSMEs represent a massive untapped market, and serving this sector can lead to:

  • Diversified Revenue Streams: Expanding into micro-lending and MSME financing can provide banks with new revenue sources.
  • Stronger Customer Relationships: Offering tailored services fosters loyalty and long-term partnerships with MSMEs.
  • Contribution to Economic Growth: Supporting MSMEs strengthens the economy, creating a virtuous cycle of prosperity that benefits everyone, including banks.

The time is ripe for the banking sector to step up and take bold, innovative steps to support MSMEs. Bending a little and adopting flexible lending practices, leveraging technology, and collaborating with stakeholders; banks can empower MSMEs to thrive in an increasingly competitive world.

The question is no longer “Can banks afford to bend?” Instead, it’s “Can the economy afford for banks not to?”

The answer lies in action. It’s time for banks, policymakers, and industry leaders to come together and reimagine the future of MSME. Support MSMEs because when MSMEs grow, the nation prospers.
