IMPACT ON TEACHERS

-A teacher is a person who helps students to acquire knowledge, competence or virtue.
-The history of teaching can be traced to Confucious (561 B.C.), who was the first famous private teacher. Many ancient Greeks hired private teachers to educate their children. In the Middle Ages, learning institutions such as Cambridge University were founded and teacher training became required.
-In ancient India, the most common form of education was gurukula based on the guru-shishya tradition (teacher-disciple tradition) which involved the disciple and guru living in the same (or a nearby) residence. These gurukulam was supported by public donations and the guru would not accept any fees from the shishya. This organized system stayed the most prominent form of education in the Indian subcontinent until the British invasion. Through strong efforts in 1886 and 1948, the gurukula system was revived in India.

-Takshshila was the earliest recorded centre of higher learning in India from possibly 8th century BCE
-Nalanda university in eastern India was the oldest university-system of education in the world in the modern sense of university.
-Chanakya was among the most famous teachers of that era
-A teacher’s role may vary among cultures.
-Teachers may provide instruction in literacy and numeracy, craftsmanship or vocational training, the arts, religion, civics, community roles, or life skills.
-Formal teaching tasks include preparing lessons according to agreed curricula, giving lessons, and assessing pupil progress.
-A teacher’s professional duties may extend beyond formal teaching.
-Outside of the classroom teachers may accompany students on field trips, supervise study hall, help with the organization of school functions, and serve as supervisors for extra curricular activity.
-In some education systems, teachers may be responsible for student discipline
-n India, Teachers’ day is celebrated on 5th September, the birthday of the former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a well-known scholar, teacher and promoter of education.
-In India Total number of teachers in higher education are 14.16 lakhs & students are 3.74 crores during 2018-19
-Needless to say, the pandemic has transformed the centuries-old, chalk–talk teaching model to one driven by technology. This disruption in the delivery of education is pushing policymakers to figure out how to drive engagement at scale while ensuring inclusive e-learning solutions and tackling the digital divide.

  1. Respected Sir,
Subject:Request for the promotion of Students based on the previous semester marks and internal assessments.

Sir,as there is a wide spread of Covid-19 in our state,it’s impossible for the students to risk their life and come out of their homes for the Exams in this situation. Before lockdown the Syllabus covered in the College was 25% & During the lockdown the Online mode of class was conducted which was not at all useful,Since most of the students have travelled to their native which is a rural area we couldn’t get a proper internet facility and the online class was not very effective.
Without knowing about the full extent of syllabus, the syllabus is “completed” on online mode. The online classes were only 10% effective to the students.

The UGC has sent guidelines that exams must be done in September. Without the completion of the syllabus it is not possible to conduct the exams.Students who are out of Karnataka will have to undergo a quarantine of 14 days and students cannot get a PG or hostel during this situation.Students who have to come back from their native will find difficulty to travel back to the college during the exam time due to the unavailability of proper transportation and it is not safe to travel in public transport during the situation. Some of the students are from other states,it will be difficult for them to travel since they have to come by train/flight,which increases the chances of them getting infected with Covid-19. There are also students whose residences are in areas that are sealed down, they can’t go out of that area,so travel becomes impossible.Conducting offline exams at this time is a risk to the students and Faculty.

Based on the above points we request you to reconsider the decision of conducting examination for the final years. We suggest that since all the students have completed the previous semester this could be taken into consideration to access the overall performance which can be further used to evaluate their final semester. This is more practical as it considers the majority of the students,Education track records. We hope our voices and concerns will be taken into consideration.
    Thanking you

  2. Promote Final year students… Karnataka government & ugc declare exam conduct in September but syllabus does not complete then how can written the exam…..

Only 50% syllabus was completed in colleges but ugs & government said 90% syllabus complete it is fake….

The lockdown was start in March …The holidays more than 3 month…Then How can students remember the lesson ….

  3. Ugc& government declare fake news ……
Does not complete syllabus then how can conduct exam …

Promote Final year students other wise all over Karnataka students protest against the exams….

1st ugc&governmaent said 30days class will conduct before the exam then said 15 days cls will conduct the said 10 days class will conduct before the exam…..

They doesn’t said properly ….10 days class not enough it’snot a spoken English cls……. Minimum 3 month reclasses want for students to revise the lesson…..

If ugc directly conduct exam the students will protest against it
