This is an important letter as I transition out of full-time work with the Barefoot College (SWRC Tilonia). We have decided to hand over the management, and successfully transitioned to a younger but capable Director – CEO, Ms Sowmya Kidambi, with a stellar track record, and a long association with the Barefoot College and civil society.
With the contribution of hundreds and even thousands of people, we have completed fifty extraordinary years of creative change, making Barefoot College a unique partnership of rural entrepreneurship and committed individuals.
The Barefoot College, urgently needs to raise substantial financial resources, exacerbated by identity theft, and the COVID crisis. We are appealing to friends, supporters, and like-minded people, to consider the possibility of a sizeable donation, or grant to us; to help give this new leadership some degree of financial comfort to undertake innovative and imaginative initiatives, given contemporary challenges.
We enclose a booklet brought out to mark our fifty-year journey, and an article that recently came out in the New York Times.
With warm regards,
Bunker Roy
