ROTARIAN LAL GOEL HONOURED AS ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR
Awards Presented at RCODI’s Dhanayawad Thanksgiving & Award Ceremony
Mumbai, June 2026 — The Rotary Club of Organ Donation International (RCODI) conferred its highest individual honour, Rotarian of the Year, upon Rotarian Lal Goel, Founder & Charter President, during the Club’s glittering Dhanayawad – Thanksgiving & Award Ceremony held online. The award was presented by Inspire President Rotarian PHF Ritika Gupta in recognition of Rotarian Lal Goel’s outstanding leadership and lifelong dedication to promoting organ donation awareness across India.
The Citation
Rotarian Lal Goel, Founder & Charter President of RCODI, is the visionary force behind the Club’s organ donation movement. For him, organ donation is not merely a cause but a lifelong mission pursued with unwavering passion, relentless dedication, and selfless commitment.
Over the years, he has devoted countless hours to creating awareness, inspiring action, and building a legacy of hope through organ donation. His perseverance in overcoming challenges and his steadfast belief in the cause have inspired members across the Rotary family to serve with greater purpose and commitment.
Through his vision and determination, he has helped elevate organ donation awareness to new heights, earning recognition for the cause at local, national, and international levels. His leadership is reflected not only in achievements and milestones but also in the lives touched, minds inspired, and lasting impact created through his efforts.
Acceptance Speech
Accepting the award, Rtn. Lal Goel dedicated the honour to organ donors and their families, describing them as the true heroes of the organ donation movement. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to all Club members, emphasising that the recognition belonged to the entire RCODI family.
He also thanked Inspire President Rotarian PHF Ritika Gupta and Inspire Secretary Rotarian Ruby Agarwal for their unwavering support and commitment throughout the year. Concluding his address, he encouraged members and well-wishers to join the Organ Donation Warriors Programme, scheduled for its national launch on 2nd July 2026.

The Membership Growth Award and several Excellence Awards were also presented to deserving members in recognition of their contributions during the Rotary year.
Programme Flow
The ceremony commenced with a welcome and Dhanayawad address by Inspire President Rtn. PHF Ritika Gupta, followed by the formal inauguration of the Award Ceremony by Founder & Charter President Rtn. Lal Goel. Following the Award Ceremony, words of thanksgiving were shared by Rotarian Lal Goel, PDG Rotarian Dr Rajendra Agarwal, Rotarians Ramnath Pradeep, Prof Dr Sudhir Sharan, Dr Urvashi Mittal, Sunil Gupta, Prof Dr Brinda Shine and PHF Dr Rohan Monis.
The programme was skilfully conducted by Inspire Secretary Rotarian Ruby Agarwal and concluded with a warm vote of thanks delivered by President-Elect Rotarian Hemalatha Bhandari.
