Xavierkutty Puthethu’s life story is a classic Kerala journey of leadership, business, community work, and a vision that reaches far beyond boundaries. Born in Vaikom, in the Kottayam district, he showed natural leadership qualities from a very young age. His path shows how a young student leader grew into a successful businessman, dedicated to bringing people together and exploring bright new fields like green energy. Today, as the Global Coordinator of the Kerala Christian Business Forum (KCBF), he works to connect business leaders, support new entrepreneurs, and open doors in clean energy. His story brings together personal hard work, strong teamwork, and a real heart for helping others succeed.

The foundation of Xavierkutty’s leadership was set when he was just ten years old. At that age, he was chosen as a class leader representing the Kerala Vidhyarthi Janatha (KVJ). This early role taught him what it truly means to represent others, listen carefully, and make decisions together. Rather than seeing leadership as just a title, he learned early on that real guidance comes from understanding people and working toward a shared goal. As the years went by, his work in student politics grew deeper, eventually leading him to become the State Secretary of KVJ at age 21. During these years, he built a strong belief in honesty, fairness, and social care, values that still guide his life and work today.

These years in student leadership prepared him well for the next chapter. At age 22, Xavierkutty stepped away from active politics to join his family’s business. This was a major turn in his journey, moving from political work to the world of trade and commerce. Working in the family business gave him hands-on experience in understanding markets, building good customer relationships, handling everyday operations, and planning for the long term. By the time he was 28, he started the Mereena Group of Companies, focusing on petroleum products trading and paint manufacturing. This milestone marked the start of his broader effort to build strong trade links and create new business opportunities in different markets.

Building a Business with Global Connections

Under Xavierkutty’s guidance, the Mereena Group continued to grow, especially in the energy sector. Running a business in petroleum trading and paint manufacturing meant working closely with supply networks, commercial partners, technical experts, and changing market needs. The group’s vision to grow internationally showed a strong desire to look beyond India and connect with markets around the world. Xavierkutty’s way of doing business focuses on the value of good friendships, strong institutions, and working together across borders. In today’s connected world, these close relationships help people share ideas, discover new opportunities, and build lasting business partnerships.

His active role in top industry groups like the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is another key part of his business life. These associations offer a great space for business owners, industry experts, and policymakers to meet and talk. Xavierkutty has also built a wide international network, connecting with government representatives and business friends across more than 100 countries. These strong connections open up new paths for friendly dialogue, market growth, and global collaboration. It shows how important it is to build trusting relationships when expanding a business overseas, connecting local Keralite enterprise with wider global possibilities.

Along with his main businesses, Xavierkutty developed a keen interest in sustainable business and green energy. Clean energy is a wonderfully promising area where business owners, investors, tech experts, and public groups can work together for a better future. His interest in green methanol shows how industrial growth can go hand-in-hand with caring for our environment. This focus also fits perfectly with Mereena Group’s goals to do more in the clean energy field. By blending business relationships, fresh investment, and modern green technology, Xavierkutty’s vision covers both traditional businesses and exciting eco-friendly industries for tomorrow.

Green Energy, Sustainable Enterprise and a Vision for the Future

One of the bright new ideas from Xavierkutty’s business vision is a proposed Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for making methanol from organic waste (biomass). The concept introduced by the Mereena Group focuses on setting up methanol plants that use biomass as a natural raw material. This biomass can include farming leftovers, wood waste, household organic waste, and other eco-friendly materials. The plan brings together government support with private investment, technical knowledge, and good management. Its main goals are to explore renewable resources, boost eco-friendly industry, and build good working partnerships. This project shows how energy entrepreneurship can lead the way in creating cleaner fuels and environmentally friendly factory methods.

The proposed process of converting biomass into green methanol involves a few simple stages, starting with collecting and sorting the organic waste, followed by processing it into clean synthesis gas. Modern gasification methods then turn this gas into green methanol, which can be stored and used as fuel. Green methanol holds great promise for marine fuels, eco-friendly chemicals, and energy, with its environmental success depending on clean waste sourcing and efficient production. This project brings wonderful benefits like putting organic waste to good use, creating new local jobs, inviting investment, and building a cleaner energy future. The PPP framework encourages shared effort, balanced risk, expert technology, and government support to bring this noble vision to life.

For Xavierkutty Puthethu, bringing together entrepreneurship, community service, and clean energy forms the heart of his life’s work. From his early days in student leadership to his work with Mereena Group and his leadership in KCBF, his journey shows a growing heart for responsibility and big dreams. The global network of KCBF gives professionals a warm space to connect, while the green methanol project opens up a clean, sustainable path for future industry. Together, these efforts show a vision deeply rooted in hard work, togetherness, and community care. As these projects move forward, their true success will continue to shine through good teamwork, honest relationships, and real benefits for businesses, local families, and nature alike.

KCBF: Connecting Communities and Creating Opportunities

A major part of Xavierkutty Puthethu’s community spirit comes alive through the Kerala Christian Business Forum (KCBF), which he co-founded and leads as Global Coordinator. The forum was started in 2016 with the blessings of His Eminence Cardinal Mar George Alencherry. Its core idea is to bring Christian business owners and professionals from Kerala and across the world onto one platform for friendship, mutual support, career growth, and trade. The forum builds warm links among people from different working backgrounds while encouraging teamwork across borders. Its steady growth shows a beautiful effort to build an organized community where people can share life experiences, build friendships, and succeed together.

In 2024, KCBF strengthened its international footprint by launching in Chicago, along with its main India headquarters in Bengaluru and Kerala headquarters in Kochi. Today, the forum connects people across nearly 75 countries through around 200 WhatsApp groups and 50,000 members. These numbers show how wide and vibrant this community has become. Its members include people from business, public life, church institutions, arts, law, accounting, farming, and the film industry. To guide its activities smoothly, the forum established a 51-member core committee and a 151-member general council, including respected spiritual leaders. This thoughtful structure helps coordinate programs, share responsibilities, and keep everyone smoothly connected.

KCBF’s main goals are to build strong professional bonds, guide new entrepreneurs, create jobs and training for Christian youth, and open access to new markets. It also works to find fresh business sectors, encourage ventures in tourism, IT, and farming, and support investment for rising business talents. Another key area is working together with state, national, and international organizations to create more economic chances for everyone. The forum also speaks up for the interests and needs of its community when interacting with public authorities. All this shows how a professional network can act as a wonderful home for supportive discussion, relationship-building, and unified growth in business and community life.

The warm support from prominent leaders across various Christian traditions is a special feature of KCBF. Its listed patrons include Chief Patron Cardinal Mar George Alencherry alongside respected leaders from the Syro-Malabar, Syro-Malankara, Malankara Orthodox, Jacobite, Malankara Mar Thoma, Latin Catholic, Knanaya, and CSI churches. This reflects KCBF’s heart to bring together members from all Christian backgrounds under one umbrella of harmony. The forum’s core message is built on unity, faith, generosity, and fellowship. Through its network, committees, and initiatives, KCBF works to strengthen friendships among business owners while opening doors of goodwill across religious, regional, and global communities.
