Upright are well rooted! Crooked fall at the next wind!!

Sometime immediate and some time delayed but justice has to come and deliver it at the footsteps of the upright and truthful.

By NV Paulose

Sometime immediate and some time delayed but justice has to come and deliver it at the footsteps of the upright and truthful. For Sir James K. Joseph, it went for fourteen years for him to get the verdict of Justice. Still it is justice for him that an untruth that was surfaced against him in the form of an artificially created adverse IB Report (In Place of the original positive IB Report) has a faint to fall down and to disappear right in front of him and at front of the Honorable Chief Justice of Kerala High Court.

The process but took fourteen years for the truth to triumph back. People at power corridors are tempted to play tricks to trap the upright and to keep them away from coveted positions. They do it because of their fear to enter the courtyards of courageous people. Keeping the upright away is their way to get into important portfolios.

Their low performance doesn’t matter to the inefficient and unworthy who occupy the positions of the rightful and the effective. In effect, the loss of performance falls on the head of the society at large. There is no political party to show better from the other ones. All parties are corrupt since no one in the party is able to earn a livelihood over genuine means. Not that they are not able to earn on their own; most of them have not tried this at any point of time. Very few who did so remain reputed and revered by the people at large. They earned goodwill either by making them contented or by finding right ways to fund their requirements.

The run of the mill politicians are resorted to corrupt practices and once one is into the mode of corruption, no one can predict their modus operandi in doing corruption and showing arrogance over to the upright.

Tricks went far beyond permissible limits of adulteration in the attempt of keeping Sir James K. Joseph away from the post of Member of Tribunal. The culprits destroyed an IB report and created another one on their own. A positive report was destroyed and an opposite one was cooked up. Now the entire thing is found missing from the files of the caretakers of democracy. What a mockery over the credibility of our nation being a secular democracy of the people and for the people.

Fit to defeat every challenges in front…

TRUTH TRIUMPHS AFTER 14 YEARS!!!
In the final hearing before the Hon’ble Justice Abraham Mathew of the Kerala High Court yesterday, it emerged clearly that no adverse IB report against me as alleged by the accused existed ! I was ably represented by Adv. S. Rajeev.

*Mother Theresa Answers My Prayer*

The photograph below is a ‘Vote of Thanks’ that I received from none less than Mother Theresa when I was the Accountant General of Kerala. Recently, I remembered the words of the Mother, “My gratitude to you is my prayer to God”. I prayed to her and she answered my prayer. I am posting this as an expression of my gratitude to the Mother.

An FIR was registered four years ago by the Kerala Police against M/s Alphonse Kannandhanam, Budh Prakash, Kesab Desiraju IAS and A N Tiwari IAS, Director, Joint Secretary and Secretary respectively of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The crux of the case is that they conspired and fabricated a false report against me and foisted it on the Prime Minister in January 2005 as if it were the IB report to undermine my appointment as Administrative member of the Central Administrative Tribunal.

As per disclosure dated 14-3-2008 of the Chief Information Commissioner, the genuine IB report was favourable to me. Soon after the disclosure, this report was destroyed and the DoPT officials have been sitting pretty. Though the investigating officer of the Crime Branch had reported to the High Court of Kerala two years ago that the IB report was missing the Crime Branch has been dilly dallying on the issue.

My relentless pursuit of truth and justice in public interest for the last fourteen years has been in vain because the Judiciary and the Police have turned a blind eye to the disappearance of the favourable IB report. In the circumstances stated above, I sought the intervention of Mother Theresa to vindicate my honour.

I am glad to inform my well-wishers that my prayer to the Mother has been answered. Honourable Justice Abraham Mathew of the High Court of Kerala has at last ordered the Police to ferret out the missing IB report. Its production, if at all, will surely vindicate my honour as much as the report of its destruction.

Note:

How are we going to compensate?

How are we going to compensate the loss for the upright and the genuine people of the nation? How are we going to give them back their glory? Can we at least stop the tricks at power corridors permanently?

We should understand the law of reverse reaction. A post that is acquired by an act of evil produces only evil fruits. Anything that has done faulty can only give faulty results unless and until it is accepted and corrected accordingly.

There may be many instances where the corrupt had corrected themselves and then flourished much better. Life is a free gift for a shorter while and those who live a worthy life is worth living in good memories and whatever wonders the nature reveals or gives at the aftermath.

Mounting Corruption at One Side! Punishing the upright on Other Side

Both Sides of the coin are throwing the nation from frying pan to fire!

By NV Paulose

India suppose to be the most advanced nation in the world by now. We are very far from that reality just because of the mounting corruption in political system and their approach towards administrative system. There is no demand for upright officers in India. All are asked to do favors to their political bosses or else face tough times in their life.

There is all sorts of dirty tricks played to tarnish good images of upright officers. The latest among such incidents  is being reported under the nose of the PMO wherein the Managing Director of well performing Indian Railway Finance Corporation is took to task on silly charges that are very easy to understand as cooked up stories.

News Report on the topic

http://indianmandarins.com/blog-details?i=16576&removal-of-irfc-md-haunts-power-corridors:-an-inside-story-

No one in the government systems seems to be bothered about performance of PSUs and government departments. The reason is simple. No one expect a transformation possible in India. We had one who had confidence in the youth of India. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam! That’s why we had seen him always active and dynamic in inspiring the youth. Who is there in the government to follow the footsteps of Dr. Kalam? No one! This is not going to take our nation anywhere.

We the citizens should understand the gravity of the situation and should get into positive response modes by getting into nation building activities. In Kerala at recent floods, both natural and dam related, we have seen the wonders that people can play in addressing tough situations. The same way, we should come together and take our nation to the next level. Government should at least allow the upright officials to work fearlessly.

Honorable Prime Minister should look into the acts of people at the power corridors. It will protect the image of the PM being a non corrupt dignified politician and law maker since there are no one else seems to be interested in curbing corruption in the nation. Perform or perish is the option in front of this generation. When we go financially corrupt our next generation may go morally corrupt. Do we need a derailed nation?

Every adverse situation had turned into good when the people involved make corrective steps. India should start this process without further delay. We are at a point where we can revive the system and bring it back to our glorious days. Remember the golden days of India prior to foreign invasion. Things were our strength then. Today our strength is the people. Hence, keep upright officers untouched and the entire youth highly inspired.

Let performance be the criteria!  Political postings can only become disasters!!

Modi or Rahul OR The People of India?

Who is going transform India and build the nation to become a role model for the entire world?

Climbing up and Reaching Success is the Mission

Kerala and Kodagu in Mission Re-building the Nation

Modi or Rahul? OR The People of India!

By Gayathri Vishwanath

Who is going transform India and build the nation being a role model for the entire world? This is a question that we should meditate in the light of the tough times our people had come out with a different approach towards life. People of India irrespective of every categories of age, sex, religion or political affiliation had come up to the occasion and had faced the challenges with a smile.

It could be the willpower of the people that had changed the mind of God to end the game announcing people being the winner at the end of the game. What is really amazing is the change of attitude in everyone. There is nothing greater than life! This fact is visible in every faces that are smiling amidst heavy losses of everything else.

Tough times are normally being handled adversely by someone loosing hope and someone taking undue advantage out of the situation. Both didn’t happen in the case of Kerala and Kodagu to a large extent. There were no difference between government and private, this group or that group. Everyone did their best to reduce the casualty and no one too the situation casually.

Fishermen of Kerala

Fishermen of Kerala must have done much more than the Army of India in saving life and bringing back everyone to the shores of hope and happiness. They let their boats to go into rescue operations and they had jumped into the rough water forgetting their life and safety measures. Below post in Social Media is a testimonial for their great contribution and God only can reward them appropriately for their goodness, kind heart, courage and selfless approach towards life.

Youth Power!

Power, energy and enthusiasm of the youth is demonstrated at tough times. They had rose to their highest levels of performance every time in the past and they can make everything possible with their coordination and cooperation.

The Japanese Model:

Japan is the only nation in the world who had told the world that they shall face the challenge without external support. In Kerala and Kodagu, people have demonstrated same spirit by offering help and support instead of taking help. Contributions are pouring mainly to Chief Ministers account and all the money will go in the rebuilding activities at affected places. There will not be any misuse of funds. Same is in the cases of organizations that are collecting help in different forms.

Individually everyone is taking care and are seeking only minimum support for survival like food and other amenities. Once they are back at their homes they shall rebuild their homes again back to the glory. All prayers are for God’s inference that give everybody required strength to withstand with the time.

Rebuilding Process:

Same spirit of togetherness and oneness can rebuild Kerala and Kodagu back to their glory and further far above all limits and boundaries. Selfless service of the youth and cooperation of institutions and organizations at every city and village can do wonders. Global participation and cooperation can do Miracles in the remake of a new world of hope and happiness in Kerala and Kodagu.
Global TV wish to share few thoughts to invoke attention of the youth of Kerala and Kodagu to come together and to form large conglomeration of the youth in the world. These are Zero Capital forms of establishments that works in virtual systems and can really transform the way we recreate oneness and prosperity all around.

Residential Resort Projects.

Residences, Career and Profitable investments! These are the three components in Residential Resorts Projects. Land holdings that are looking for investments and joint ventures can initiate the process with those who are in or interested in tourism projects. Projects should be built up in a way residences should become part of the project while privacy is taken care in unique ways.

Rashi Eco Tourism Ltd based at Bangalore can provide plans and supports for the projects. The group has already done several projects in similar lines except including residential themes into it. There is a plan to build an Agro Tourism project keeping residences at non cultivable spaces. This model can easily be developed into Residential Resort Projects.

Secular work stations.

Need of the Hour is to create quality work stations for the youth and the retired people who can bat for another innings. We should move from capital model to revenue models. Religious and Social establishments should come forward to develop Start up centres that are available for the youth and the youthful free of cost.

Start up Centres Free of Cost:

NV Paulose, Abdul Raheem Teekay with Commander Ramachandra Narayanan.

A model is being initiated by Abdul Raheem Teekay, Managing Director of Teekays Concepts Pvt. Ltd and Author who also had translated The Alchemist of world famous author Paulo Coelho into Kannada and had given 1000 copies free to the underprivileged children in Kannada Medium schools and Colleges. The model is simple. Work for an hour per day and get entire services of a start up centre free of cost, one hour that you work also rewards you according to your performance.

There are plenty of professional support available for the youth in the rebuilding process. We shall connect about 100 of them for those who prepare a plan of action and send a summary of them to us.  WhatsApp to contact is 8762895418

Metro Water Ways and Pipeline Power Stations!

Opportunity behind the face of disastrous flood threats!!

By Santos Kumar Pattanayak / NV Paulose

Chinese word is the same for both difficulty and opportunity. The word interestingly justifies the fact that there is an opportunity lying beneath every threat or difficulty. Turning the coin from the side of difficulty into the side of opportunity is the transformation process. As a nation India should apply lot of thoughts in converting our difficulties into our strengths. Tough times teach us lessons of survival. People when challenged always had come out with golden achievements and permanent solutions instead of surrendering and succumbing to the situations. This should not only be our approach in negotiating personal life but also in formulating national plans. Participation of large number of people in such endeavors can be the key to success in nation building.
All of us in India are living in a dichotomous situation as flood in some part and droughts in other part of the country is a regular phenomenon than exception .

Jawaharlal Nehru inspecting the Nangal Hydel Canal, 8 November 1953

The wide scale environmental degradation over the years has led to natural disasters in succession .The recent flash flood in ‘God’s own country’ – Kerala is the recent testimony to it. There is a victory hiding in the face of floods, water dam crisis and large rain falls at various parts of the country. This is one side of the coin. Places that are repeatedly facing water scarcity and farmers who are asking only for water are on the other side.

The moot question or rather the challenge is as to how can we take the water from low lying areas to the higher lands. Can we make the recurrent difficulties into opportunities with our innovative thought process and workable solutions? Asking this question and leaving the topic is no solution for the crisis that we are facing year in and year out. There need not be a definite answer while we start of a research on this topic. This is one of the problems we encounter in India. Every research starts from an outcome that is fixed in advance. How can it be a research then? Hiding something and searching for the same thing cannot be called research.

Research by itself is a search towards the unknown. We are of course in need of a solution. We can start our search for it with available resources and all our existing knowledge base. Many unknown things will get revealed and provided by the forces in the nature as we sincerely make our efforts in the process of finding a solution for what we are searching for.

Metro Water Ways!

It is a query or a search from the heart of inquiry. Can we solve the crisis of flood by creating Metro Water Ways between certain places? Can this be a method to form twin city models like that of Hyderabad and Secunderabad? Can we create new twin cities that promote international tourism in a big way? Questions can be added to any number. But, the basic question is all about creation of wealth out of the large water resources that is the essence of existence of the universe. Metro Water Way taught us the great way for using our skies for fulfilling our dreams. It is not just dream in the sky. We should also build our empire over there. What can we do with Metro Water Ways?

PM Narendra Modi Inspire India with the idea of  Digital India

Permanent Solution for Water Crisis in other places:

Water crisis areas are near and far everywhere. Water can be provided at the needy places once it is stored in an elevated position. There can be a cheaper pricing that can bring in so much money considering the quantity of water that can be routed through this process. Total economy can be improved on this initiative. One side supplying water at low prices and the other side supplying farm products at a cheaper price are a perfect barter. Agro processing units can be set up so that the entire country can get sufficient food products or higher organic quality.

These are detailed topics that need further studies and analysis. Corporate houses also can take part in the process by setting up micro units that can create large employment in the rural sector. This is how we should convert potential competitions in the market. Today’s method is more or less elimination of the competitor. While eliminating a competition, we are also losing lot of resourcefulness that are associated with the system in such an existence and the whole eco system gets affected, and many times we fail to measure the agony on others faces.

Water Crisis in Kerala

Complementing with a potential competition can create synergy between the two and it can create large results in favour of all the stakeholders. More employment and better margins always help society to grow faster. We are stuck in competition and duplication of capital outflow in similar establishments while we can avail the benefits with amicable arrangements.

This is a basic change required in our approach in establishing systems and practices. There is no need of reinventing the wheel. What is available should be utilised to the fullest extent and there should not be unnecessary capital outflow for duplication of existing facilities. Banks should insist their clients for mergers in process while their management remain separate for taking the advantage of micro management. It is easy to operate when things are divided in units.

Metro Airports for Seaplanes:

We can create Metro Airports when we can create Metro Water Ways with sufficient depth, length and width. Seaplanes can land in Metro Airports. Runways in an Airport are not as wide as an Airport by itself. Real landing happens in the runways. Seaplanes that are comparatively smaller aircrafts can be easily operated on Metro Airports. This can transform our tourism sector. This can make history in Health Tourism Campaigns too.
Some of our Universities are able to take up new projects on Metro Water Ways and Metro Airports using their own funds. NRI Participation in the Model of Cochin Airport can make it an easy go. Mini models can be tried initially. Seaplanes need only one kilometre length of water and few meters depth. Width can be set according to technological potential and funding sources.

Metro Legend Sreedharan

Pipeline Power Stations

A series of power stations can be planned when we make use of the water in the dams in the high lands to flow in pipelines. Artificially created waterfalls over to large motor pumps that are set in the reverse motion is the way of generating electricity. Water collected at the top land dams are used for power generation. Same water is then let go into irrigation projects down the line.

We can create pipelines in different directions towards down line sectors and can have many power stations and irrigation projects in multiple directions. These projects need not be too big in nature but can be many in numbers. We can make use of the annual rain cycle since electricity can be stored over a period of time. India is the only nation in the world that is blessed with Monsoon and weather cycles on a regular order.

Macro Implementation of Micro Projects:

Micro funding and Macro implementation of projects are the way ahead. National budgets are very small and there is no surplus available for new projects every time. Routine expenses are always on the rise since governmental systems most of the time remain white elephants.

Creating revenue models in every sector other than that of essential services and for the bottom line of people in the society in contemporary time is the way ahead. This will open up new opportunities even for the under privileged in the society who should be brought up to become self-sustainable in due course. Let us create avenues for self-respect and abundance of satisfaction.

It is always better to do projects in unit forms than in large forms. This will make the projects much more feasible and sustainable. The common people can be the real stakeholders in funding them confidently by assessing the size of the projects. Sustenance of the project also can be measured in this way. Present crisis of banks are basically do to the large size of banks. Small holes in the ship go unnoticed but such together are enough to collapse the system in the long run.

There should be micro units that are operated by the beneficiaries and none other than them. There should be collective operation and management but running the show should be entrusted in the hands of trusted professionals.Monitoring and rewarding system should be organised in such a way that there is no way for anyone in the system to get into corrupt practices. As such, there are fool proof monitoring systems that are functional at many places.

Dignified people never indulge in corrupt practices. Developing character is thus very important while attempting to do the impossible. Initiatives of higher magnitude should happen with Public Private Partnership and there should not be any kind of supervision from government side Rather the work should be executed through a transparent self-governance system. India has enough land and all other resources to attempt projects of very high magnitude. It is high time for us to think about the mission impossible.

GOOD LUCK INDIA!

Gentle giant will be missed: President on Atal Bihari Vajpayee

New Delhi, Aug 16 (PTI) Expressing grief over the death of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, President Ram Nath Kovind today said the “gentle giant” will be missed by all.

In a post on Twitter, Kovind said his leadership, foresight, maturity and eloquence put him in a league of his own.

“Extremely sad to hear of the passing of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, our former prime minister and a true Indian statesman,” he said.

“Atalji, the gentle giant, will be missed by one and all,” he added.

Vajpayee, the 93-year old leader, who successfully steered through several strategic challenges during his tenure as prime minister, died today after a prolonged illness.

He is survived by his adopted daughter Namita Kaul Bhattacharya.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where he was admitted on June 11 with a number of ailments announced his death at 5.05 PM today.

Leaders across parties bid emotional goodbye to Vajpayee

New Delhi, Aug 16 (PTI) Leaving boundaries of their respective parties, political leaders today bid an emotional goodbye to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee describing him as a visionary statesman with acceptability across a diverse ideological spectrum.

Vajpayee, who was 93, died at AIIMS this evening after a prolonged illness.

Several leaders saw a personal loss in death of Vajpayee, one of India’s most respected leaders who led the nation through several crises and held together a tenuous coalition with his inclusive politics.

Following is the full statement released by LK Advani on Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death:

I am at a loss of words to express my deep grief and sadness today as we all mourn the passing away of one of India’s tallest statesmen, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. To me, Atalji was more than a senior colleague- in fact he was my closest friend for over 65 years.

I cherish the memories of my long association with him, right from our days as Pracharaks of the RSS, to the inception of Bharatiya Jana Singh, the struggle of the dark months during the Emergency leading to the formation of Janata Party and later the emergence of the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1980.

Atalji will be remembered as the pioneer of the first ever stable non-Congress coalition government at the Centre and I had the privilege of working as his deputy for six years.

As my senior, he always encouraged and guided me in every possible manner.

His captivating leadership qualities, mesmerising oratory, soaring patriotism and above all, his sterling humane qualities like compassion, humility and his remarkable ability to win over adversories despite ideological differences have all had a profound effect on me in all my years in public life.

I will miss Atalji immensely…

Youth entrepreneurship is the need of the hour.

Indian political climate is conducive for Youth entrepreneurship.

By CA GS Kamath / NV Paulose

Agriculture to Rural Industrialization:Options are plenty:

India is at the junction of transformation. It is the youth who should take a call on the latest advantages of time and technology. Digitization and internet put together has redefined everything including education, establishments and international trade equations.

It is good time for the youth who are dynamic and filled with ideas. Political climate in India is in favour of the youth. There are support from all sides for making your ideas flourish. Everything is done through computer today. Mobile, Tab and all other gadgets are operating in the same platform. Everything is possible instantly today.

Richest people in the country was Tatas and Birlas earlier. Today the picture is different. Somebody who was nobody has emerged and has become extremely successful. Youth should learn from the success stories of many youngsters across the world.

Elders should encourage the youngsters to take up business ideas and to create career for many others. Training should happen along with education. There is no end for learning. There are many courses that can be learned parallel to campus education.

Support for youth initiatives:

There are plenty of elders who are willing to help youngsters to come up in life. Youngsters should show interest and should take initiatives to make use of the situation. Everything required are available around and the youth can start up anything and everything at this time where the entire nation is at their support.

Prime Minister is all the time inspiring the youngsters and willing to work day and night for their welfare. Youth can approach every government departments for help and all officers are instructed to be positively responding towards the initiatives of the youth. There is no better time for the youth than the present day scenario.

With the Youth

Nation should progress with the youth. They should decide about what kind of an India in which they would love to live tomorrow. The generation today has a responsibility to keep the earth in good condition for them. Organic life need to be promoted. People should come out of their mad rush and should focus on their own weeing.

There is demand for young entrepreneurs. They should become dynamic and informative about the needs of the time. There is demand for good quality products all across the world. Europe is looking for large import of vegetables and fruits from India. It is time the graduates should undergo short term training programs and should get into supervisory jobs. We need to change according to the need of the time.

Broad Thinking:

All need not go abroad. Those who get opportunity can go but they should make sure they are going through proper channels are with right kind of recruitment agencies. Indian Embassies at all nations are youth friendly and you should be always in touch with the Embassy when you are at abroad. Those who are in abroad should also look for avenues to connect the importers with Indian producers.

Youth getting into farming supervision can help mechanization and many other advantages. Digital connectivity and container transportation are all in favor of India. Our ports can handle large quantities of cargo and our quality consciousness will impress the people all across the world. Getting into the dynamics of Agro Entrepreneurship is the way for the youth in India. You can do a lot for yourself and for the nation!

Progress is the Path for bliss!

Let everyone grow together!!

Taking economy to next levels is the way forward

Leave action in hands of youth

Political leaders should inspire youth to act

By Santosh Goenka / NV Paulose

Santosh Goenka, SN Ramesh, NV Paulose at Guhantara

Ignited minds only can develop a nation!

India should fast forward economic growth by taking advantage of its youth. While the reins of the nation remain in the hands of seasoned politicians, Leadership of Action should be passed over to the young and the dynamic. We need not bank upon budgetary allocations for making our economy to progress. All that needs to be done is allow youngsters to travel down new paths, wherein they are free to make use of emerging opportunities.

No nation is ready to compromise on development, but all are facing scarcity of funds for developmental work. Africa is a large source of revenue for India to harness from the Electrical industry, according to the experience of Bajaj Electricals. Many Indian companies have similar stories to tell with different details. Growth, then involves innovation. Implementation involves much more complex involvement, once innovation is done. Benefit for more people is possible when we create large circles of implementation. Revenue circles should be more in number and scale.

Triangle to Vertical:

Present economic circles are capitalistic and the model is just a triangle at first level and a vertical at next level. Innovator, Investor and Business model are the three components in the economic harvest process. The investor supports innovator and later the revenue from the business is shared between the two. Initial struggle is for the innovator. It is really a struggle for the innovator to make the investor understand the potential of the innovation.

The struggle period ends once the investor understands the revenue model. Next level is the stage of negotiation. Investor typically acts as if the idea is not understood or attempts to convince the innovator that the idea is not as big as it is claimed to be. That process is to fix a lower price for the innovator and to create a better ratio for the investor.

Business deal between the innovator and the investor happens at further stages. Innovator gets a big sum for the innovation and eventually is eliminated from the scene. Reason for this elimination is the idea of the investor to take large benefit out of the innovation without sharing the fruits with the inventor.

What happens in this process is the same as uprooting a plant from the fertile land to plant it in a barren land. An idea is like a plant. It need nurturing like a plant. An idea is like a painting. It needs to be painted properly in every detail. A painting initiated by an artist cannot be completed by someone who does not have any experience in that segment. Paintings in Sistine Chapel are dedicated to the artists and not to the then Popes who were in possession of those creative marvels. Once the innovator is eliminated, the Triangle becomes a vertical. Now the investor must take care of the business and make maximum money out of it.

A Vertical cannot stand for long without its roots. It falls and dies eventually. The Investor must have made much more that the money spent on it. But there has to be a huge loss for the larger society when a tree of innovation is cut and sold as wood. The price of wood amounts only 0.005 percent of the total value of a tree when it lives to its true life. We have killed plenty of ideas in the process of making the triangle into verticals.

Triangle to Circle:

The new model proposed is to develop the triangle into large circles by involving all the stakeholders in the process. Even the consumer is part of the large circle and transparency is the way to make it possible. One should notice the change in the Chinese approach to business process. China once known for the cheapest production destination has now started to outsource. Production cost in China is more than elsewhere in many cases. We should fix the business processes and sharing the benefit of economy with everyone who deserve a share. This change in approach can help corporate houses to earn much more when they outsource most of their production process to smaller companies. We need to reach out to Indian villages and should search for ways and means to harness economic advantage from such destination. Definitely, by giving everyone their due share, the economy will be able to sustain for a longer period.

Good luck

Let us go ahead

The Snake Guard! Small an Innovation! Large the Impact!!

Drawing lines between Human and Snakes!

By Prasadam Industries

When we came across a few villagers beating a non-venomous Rat Snake to death for merely being a snake it rattled us to no end.

After all, deaths due to snake bites are an extremely common phenomenon across rural India. We had to quickly come up with a solution that not just protects people from deadly encounters with snakes but also, vice versa.

The Prasadam Snake Guard – a Solar-Powered, ultrasonic rodent repeller that emits ultrasonic sound waves designed to keep snakes at least 50 metres away from the Snake Guard.

These unique sticks are being distributed among farmers in rural areas making it an economical, easy-to-use and a safe device that not just protect people from snakes, but also protects these beautiful creatures from being killed as well.

A change from a relaxed speed to a dynamic speed.

The early demise of 41-year-old Anant Bajaj, managing director of Bajaj Electricals (BEL), will be a huge loss to the industry and the company as he spearheaded many of first projects in technology and manufacturing processes and countered the aggression of the foreign electrical manufacturers in the domestic market. The market value of BEL, which doubled to Rs 6,300 crore in the last one year, stands as the proof of his initiatives.

Anant joined BEL after his engineering in 1996. In a very recent interview to Business Today, he said that he started from rock bottom in the company as a salesman of fans. In 1999, he helped his father Shekhar Bajaj to change BEL from a marketing and sales company to a manufacturing company by building Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra and ramping up Chakan facility. His engineering background helped him accomplish the projects.

“On August 15, 1997, the company launched its website as one of the earliest in the country. In 2001, we launched an e-commerce platform,” Bajaj said in the interview. In 2001, the company’s turnover was Rs 350 crore. But the plant construction cost had weighed down on the company’s balance sheet. But Anant said his father Shekhar was younger at that time and had the ability to take pressure and it kept the company from going into bankruptcy.

In 2002-03, he worked in Bajaj Auto under Rajiv Bajaj. In his words, it was a crisis period for the auto business. He has seen the crisis in both electrical and auto businesses. Post the crisis in electricals business, he created business units to bring accountability inside the company and among dealers. During the 2003-09 period, the company had seen exponential growth. In 2006, he became executive director and in the next year, BEL had become a Rs 1000 crore company.

Anant implemented Oracle ERP system in the company in 2009 for accelerating business growth. He was trying to implement the Theory of Constraints (ToC) method in the company to overcome the challenges since 2009 but failed because of the lacklustre attitude of the senior staffers. In 2012, when he became joint MD, he decided to play the ball hard and asked the seniors either to implement or quit.

ToC changed the mindset of the company. With its implementation, the top line got hit. But it eventually improved the margins.

Anant initiated digital transformation journey of BEL in 2014. He had turned around the loss-making EPC business in 2015. After 2012, the company centralised the supply chain and business unit structure. Bandra-Worli Sealink, Wankhede Stadium, Vidyasagar Setu in Kolkata were some of the iconic projects of Bajaj, executed under Anant.

BEL’s revenue has grown to Rs 4,700 crore in the last financial year and it posted a profit of Rs 84 crore.

His father Shekhar Bajaj earlier told Business Today that Anant has been aggressively involved in the transformation of the company. “He looks to achieve faster growth. He has futuristic ideas.”

“He has taken a lot of initiatives in the last four years and they are fructifying into results. He took tough decisions like stopping wholesale and started distribution. We were prepared to take the negative growth because of the tough decisions,” the father said.

He was promoted as Managing Director about two and a half months ago, on June 1. He was primarily responsible for setting up the integrated R&D centre that focuses on cutting-edge technologies to create next-generation appliances.
