EXPRESSIONS 2023 Unveiled: A Celebration of Talent on November 3, 2023

In a grand spectacle of creativity and unity, the School of Social Work at Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, commenced a two-day National Level Inter-Collegiate Talent Hunt, “EXPRESSIONS 2023,” today, with the theme “EMPORIA – The Battle of the Empires.” This event seeks to celebrate creativity, playfulness, and integrity while fostering personal growth and development.

The event began with a warm welcome from Mrs. Vineetha K, the Registrar of Evaluation, who set the stage for an exciting array of events that followed. The inauguration was a notable moment, graced by Sri Anupam Agrawal, IPS, Commissioner of Mangaluru City Police, who unveiled a scroll carrying the theme of “EMPORIA.”

Commissioner Agrawal, initially taken aback by the theme, commended its positive perspective on battles and their role in cultivating growth and development among participants. He encouraged students to partake in competitions to enhance their skills and personal development and extended his best wishes to all the participants.

In his motivational address, Commissioner Agrawal challenged the traditional notion of life as a competitive race and instead championed collective progress, emphasizing the importance of working together to ensure success for all. His words resonated deeply with the audience, leaving them inspired.

The program was presided over by Dr. Jenis Mary P, Vice Principal of the School of Social Work, who expressed her gratitude for the dedicated volunteers and staff whose tireless efforts made the event possible. She was delighted by the enthusiastic and lively crowd and expressed her hopes for the event’s resounding success.

Ms. Ifra Ayesha, the President of the Student Council, delivered a thoughtful speech, delving into the essence of the fest’s theme, “EMPORIA,” which encapsulates creativity, playfulness, and integrity. The inaugural ceremony concluded with gratitude extended by Ms. Sarik Ankitha, the Dean of Student Progression, to all those who contributed to the event’s success.

At 10:30 am, the much-anticipated competitions officially began, featuring participation from 29 colleges within and outside the state. These competitions included “Battle of Acts” (a literature event), “Battle of The August” (an all-rounder event), “Battle of Barters” (a best management team event), “Battle of Beagles” (a mystery-solving event), “Battle of Brushstrokes” (an art event), “Battle of Flavours” (a cooking event), “Battle of Frames” (a reel-making event), “Battle of Hunters” (a treasure hunt), and “Battle of Showstoppers” (a variety and dance event). The palpable enthusiasm among the students was evident as they actively engaged in these diverse challenges, showcasing their talents and creativity.
